Re: 3rd-gen Skoda Superb launched in India at Rs. 22.68 lakh

The delivery dates for 1.8 TSI AT are similar to MT. May be 1-2 weeks early.
The car is taken through company lease. No advance paid from my side.

Re: 3rd-gen Skoda Superb launched in India at Rs. 22.68 lakh

Is there anyone other than Skoda who so poorly supports a new car?

Most links on the new Superb's website are throwing out a 404 error! The links for the brochure, tech specs, features etc. are all giving 'page not found' errors .

May be Skoda wants to provide the actual ownership experience from the day you start researching for the car
A clear sign of things to come!

They seem to have updated the website only in part. In case you want to download the New superb brochure here is the direct link.

http://www.skoda-auto.co.in/download...rb-leaflet.pdf

I got this from the Rapid subpage by selecting download brochure for New Superb.

As an automobile manufacturer they should not have such dead links on their website.

Saw two new Superbs at Vinayak Skoda near Mekhri Circle. One was TD vehicle and I think the other was a customer purchased one. The car looked really elegant in person. Not sure about the color, it was dark blue or grey metallic.

Re: 3rd-gen Skoda Superb launched in India at Rs. 22.68 lakh

Its quite surprising to see such few New Superb 's on our Mumbai roads as well, post the launch when i went across to see the car at their Autobahn showroom at Prabhadevi, there was a buzz at the showroom, that's typical with a new car launch, they mentioned there would be 6 weeks wait and this was in March. The advisor claimed that they have received over 200 bookings, mostly for the AT petrol. Considering there are couple of more dealers in Mumbai, still not seen any of them around town.

What's up with these car manufacturers - Ford (with the Endeavor) and now Skoda? Why launch a product when your production (and even IT) isn't ready?

They are being seen now. I have a feeling that Skoda dealers would have stalled deliveries because of increase in prices. Thus they would just have sat on inventory and delivered the cars at revised prices to clients.

These cars are selling well, even with increased pricing and in spite of the rubbish Skoda attitude and service. Just imagine how much more they would have sold had their service been good and honest.

I did see a silver coloured Superb in Juhu on Sunday and it looks Gorgeous.

I agree the car is absolutely "superb", but as an existing customer, I must say have had some good some bad experience, over time they have got their act together especially on the service front at Autobahn in Kurla mumbai.
Your probably right about them holding back the cars.

All I can say is welcome to Skoda. I had warned you nothing happens on time with Skoda.

Can existing/past owners of the outgoing Superb please comment on the above? Are these common issues, or did the gentleman in question end up with a rare lemon?
I own a 2009 1.8 TSI AT Superb.

I can confirm that the AC for the rear seats is very poor. You have to switch the AC into manual mode and increase the blower to get the rear seats cool enough especially in our hot chennai climate.

I have never had any issues with the sunroof.

I have had to change the Mechatronics 3 times on my car within the first 50000 km!

The AC was upgraded post 2011. I own a 2012 1.8 TSI MT and the AC chills. No issues at all even after 4 years. For both the driver and the passengers, to clarify.

That is good to know. The front seat is fine even in my 2009 model, and since I mainly drive the car myself it is not a major issue for me. However when I have passengers in the rear seat I always get complaints unless I increase the blower to the max.

Re: 3rd-gen Skoda Superb launched in India at Rs. 22.68 lakh

@GTO - I found another laughable error on Skoda site. Its not even laughable it is embarrassing. When I had requested brochure on email by filling up the form I got the same in some time. This was before I figured out i could download it from the Rapid sub site also. Now the emailed brochure is of the earlier generation. No this is not a joke. Which car manufacturer would do this.

Their actual new brochure is a 40 page PDF. What they emailed me is this 2 page pdf. And on both of them it says "The New Skoda Superb".

Attached is the snipe. They have done their TV Advertisements so well. Why ignore the website. It is important these days. Anyone would think that the New Superb is exactly like the old on seeing the brochure emailed to them.
