With Crysta there are a lot more electronic gadgets than the previous version and yes there are niggles reported . But so far it has fared much better in comparison to say first gen XUV(and even current gen) or the Aria. I am not supporting Crysta because it is a Foreign brand, but it is actually reliable. If it is not more reliable than XUV or Safari or to be launched Hexa, I don't see why 7000+ copies are sold every month despite carrying a hefty premium. Of course it offers more space and practicality but just that alone do not justify the premium which people are paying for.

If you have been comfortable with Scorpio, then go ahead with the XUV. You never know what the Tata dealer near you will dish out in terms of overall experience. You will not go wrong with an XUV especially because I am guessing that you have a good rapport with Mahindra ASS by now.

I read somewhere that it has 450mm of water wading capacity. That's too good, if true.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Saw a group of Hexa's on the Hyderabad ORR at around 6 pm. I was so tempted to stop and take a look but was running late for a meeting, so could not.
Must have been some sort of media drive. The cars looked awesome.

I suggest you wait and test drive the Hexa before deciding. This is the best Tata car ever and is right up there with its competition.
Additionally, please take some time out and visit your nearest / preferred Tata service center and observe the overall service experience.
If you feel it is up to the mark, then it's just the test drive that's between you and your Hexa! 😀

I dont think its a new system and it should be 8 speaker Harman setup present in Tiago.

Only addition present in XT variants is the additional speaker and subwoofer JBL components.

But the above is not clearly mentioned in the official variants page.

I feel the XMA would be the most Value for Money variant considering affordability (initial cost and long term maintenance with less electronics and smaller tires) and the potential to accessorize some of the features present in XTA.

Having said this, XTA is the best variant if 4x4 is not a requirement

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

Thinking about it, XT with 16 inch tyres with alloys will be a good option, should be cheaper by 50k and translating to even cheaper on road price than 19 inch XT.

Going by posts here, bigger wheel size provide not much of an advantage apart from looks.

I believe its 400.

Here is a lengthy offroading video of Hexa.

Comparing the Auto version XMA and XTA, for me the disappointment is that Cruise control is absent in the XMA. With improving infrastructure in our country cruise control is not a fancy feature but a expected base feature at this vehicle specification point.

And if the customer decides to go in for the XTA to get the cruise control, the 7 seater option is absent.

Tata motors should take a re-look at version options or offer add on packages if possible.

Will the experience be similar with the 4x4 automatic??? Initial speculations was that the 4x4 auto is locked & the manual one is out. Now the manual one is locked.

I believe we did see the black one during the media drives. The website has Sky Grey & no black. Too many changes in a short span.

There's no 4x4 Automatic option at all. The Automatic will only be available with a 2WD version.

Thanks & pardon my ignorance....I did not see something called XM 4x4. It is always a XT4x4 in the tech specs. I will be the happiest to see a XM4x4.

Re: Tata Hexa @ Auto Expo 2016

I am really looking forward to the Hexa launch but having seen the variants, I am just a tad disappointed that followed the Innova way on the 6 vs. 7 seaters for the ATs.

The top of line seems to be only in captains chair format without giving the customer the option of bench seats. After all the criticism of Crysta on this front, I wish they could have taken the effort to provide both options on their top of line version. It would have perhaps given some customers another reason to pick the Hexa over Innova.

Overall thought at least from pics it seems even richer looking than the Innova which is nice, lovely exterior and interior design. Hope they price it well of course.
