re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

The post mentions that it supports android auto and smartphone mirroring platform. Does this mean it doesn't support apple car play or does smartphone mirroring platform support iPhones as well?

re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

I had accompanied my colleague to book the new Honda city AT at TVS Sundaram motors today evening. He has paid the initial booking amount of 21315 which includes 1.5% service charge for debit card transaction( cashless economy you see !!!). I spoke to RM to and understand that there will be 3 variants in AT too and they are yet to receive the feature lists. Cars are dispatched and it's expected to be received at their yard by 12th February. Once received they will register in local RTO and delveries will begin on the launch date itself. Currently his booking number stands as 21. Invites will also be sent to customers who have pre booked the car for the launch.

That's illegal. Your friend can raise a complaint to the bank who issued the debit card. As I understand, all the merchants need to sign a disclosure agreement to absorb the card transaction charges when they are provided with a POS (Point Of Sale) machine. This charge can't / shouldn't be charged back to the customer.

The biggest addition for me are the side & curtain airbags! It looks like ISOFIX anchors are present as well.

So the City now joins the Verna as the only cars in their class to offer 6 airbags in total. Fantastic! It's great to see more choices in the B & C segments for those who want safety.

I hope the side & curtain airbags also make their way into the Jazz whenever it receives a facelift.

Let me check on this and ask him to raise with the bank first as per your advise. I still don't understand why they are charging clients for using cards on their POS terminals. With current focus on moving to cashless economy merchants should not be passing on the charges to clients.

Very impressive. I am in the market for a new car and wanted a mid-size SUV. But now I feel City is worth a look.

6 airbags, AT with 7 speed paddle shifts, better ground clearance, large boot - New City ticks a lot of boxes for me.

re: Honda working on City Facelift. EDIT: Launched at Rs 8.5 lakhs

2017 Honda City video released. ZX variant also confirmed in this video. Good to see Honda go out all guns blazing by offering LED headlamps + DRLs, 16" alloy wheels, 6 airbags and 7" AVN.

Launching ZX variant I believe is the boldest and best step Honda has taken. There is always enough and more appetite among Indian consumers to pay a premium and go for the best. Honda across its line up has shied away from launching fully loaded top variant. ZX with CVT would sell well.

I don't see any mention of ESP(VSA) here. I will be disappointed if they don't include VSA.

Brilliant, the top end is as fully loaded as anything. They just need to make sure that they price it aggressively, and it will just leave all the cars way behind.

It will be more fun to see how Hyundai responds with the new verna, what extra can they fit in now!!!

The changes in the new City are impressive for sure but then I also hope they have provided better wider tyres as well. The biggest compliant I have with the current City are those 165 section tyres. They look puny.

Also, a proper sedan is any day better than an overgrown hatchback(I mean mini-SUVs).

It will be great if they do, but then that problem can be easily solved by visiting a reputed tyre shop nearby. Unlike tyres, 6 airbags can not be changed/fiited so easily.

The way things are here in team bhp, majority of the members get it changed anyway, irrespective of what manufacturer offers

It's 175 BTW. And coming from a current owner and regular highway driver, it does the job well.

I totally agree on your mini SUV comment. Those cars are ridiculous. The space in the City is unbeatable. In fact, the back seat is much better than even an X1 for example if all seats are occupied!
