Polo body panels of 2010 are the same as 2017. However, a clean Polo still looks good. VW designs age very well. I like clean straight lines, so I may be a bit biased. 118 ne and contessa used to turn my head and they still do.

Let me ask this, you have owned a polo for 5 to 6 years. Its time to upgrade, iam sure vento will certainly be among them. What is the possibility of choosing an upgrade that looks excatly like your current car vs a car that is totally different from what you own.

I think, the possibility of choosing vento would be much higher if they change their design altogether. Mind you this is not just with Volkswagen, Ford, Hyundai, Chevrolet, etc are all doing the same thing.

re: 2016 Volkswagen Vento Facelift spotted testing. EDIT: Launched

I visited one VW Dealership yesterday for the Highline Plus Model and they were guaranteeing the delivery by 31st Jan, had I booked the vehicle yesterday. Didn't book it yet because they were not very clear on the list of changes. The representative was guaranteeing new LED lights and Change of Alloys. He was not sure if it would come with Black Alloys or if they are 16 inches. He also mumbled that TSI would come with 120bhp (as with 1.4 TSI engine) but wasn't sure about that either.

I have kept my booking on hold till he gives me concrete list of changes and gets a car at his dealership for me to see (expected sometime this week).

VW Vento Highline Plus starts reaching dealerships

Thank you to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent this information in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts!

The Volkswagen Vento will soon come with a reversing camera and LED headlamps with DRLs. These feature additions are expected to be offered with a new top-end Highline Plus variant. According to the information available, the Vento Highline Plus models have started reaching dealerships, and an official launch announcement will be made soon.

The Vento sedan was first spotted testing with LED headlamps and DRLs in January last year. It was subsequently showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. However, Volkswagen has taken its time to launch the new variant in the market.

In addition to the aforementioned feature updates, the Vento Highline Plus is also likely to come with new 16-inch alloys. Powertrain related details about the upcoming top-end trim haven't surfaced yet. However, it is expected to continue to be offered with the existing three engines - a 1.2-litre TSI petrol, a 1.6-litre MPI petrol and a 1.5-litre TDI diesel. Speculations also suggest that the automaker might plonk a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine with 122 BHP on tap in the Vento Highline Plus.

1.4 seems to be a new news but if it is true it would be great. Reverse camera being added in top trim seems to be a good news . My only wish that is pending now is CarPlay

I know CarPlay would have completed the car. But is actually useful once Apple Maps directions start in India. When that happens, we could swap the RCD 330G with RCD 330G Plus sold on AliExpress with CarPlay. Here's the link for your reference: website &

Hope it helps you take the decision buddy.

Was this taken at a dealership?
If so, then do you have any info about the launch, price brackets and most importantly the 1.4 TSI?
Awaiting for your response anxiously!

The interesting bit is the 1.4L TSi engine at 122 BHp. Even though in Europe the current cars have 1.4 L Tsi with 150 BHp, its a welcome change.
In Russia VW sell Vento as a Polo Sedan and the 'GT' line there has the same engine at 122 BHP. Since VW tends to follow a strategy to implement their upgrades first in Russia before they do in India, this engine coming as an option is quite possible.
Remember RCD 330G was first launched in Russia as an option before they did in India ; http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3881410.

Anyway in my opinion VW should update their petrol engine options in India for both Polo and Vento. They can provide 1.2 TSi with manual gearbox in their normal Polos and 1.4 TSi with/without DSG in their GTs.

VW finally launched 2017 facelifted Vento HL Plus

Basically it has 2 new features.

1. LED headlight

2. Reverse camera

After long testing of over a year, VW finally launched LED headlight in Vento. It has LED DRL as well as LED bulbs in it. It really looks stunning. LED headlight is Hella made and quality is top notch.

As you can see in the pics below, it doesn't have auto headlight switch. So basically it will not turn on by itself just like VW Jetta. But we can see that there is no headlight levelling scroll (0 to 4) beside headlight switch, that means it is auto levelling.

It even has upgraded BCM just to get LED DRL functionality just like Skoda Rapid. LED DRL turns on when you turn on the ignition.

Also it comes with in built Rear View Camera just like VW Ameo. But it has same RCD 330. Sorry folks NO RCD 330+ for now. That means NO Apple CarPlay.

Here are some pics of new 2017 facelifted Vento.

I believe you can book the car now. Delivery can be done immediately after registration, as the dealers are being allotted the cars in this week. Pricing is approx 12.66 Lacs ex-showroom Mumbai for TSI HL Plus. Can check for TDI and get back to you if you need that as well.

Regarding the 1.4TSI, I can reconfirm and get back to you asap. Hope that helps.

Thanks ashish, it will be really helpful if you can please confirm about the 1.4 TSI along with the pricing for both the TSI and TDI.

Good to see the led headlamps finally make its way in. Almost a year since it was first showcased.

The 1.4 TSI looks unlikely looking at the prices mentioned here for the Highline Plus. Seems to be a difference of 70-80k and I recall reading that the led headlamps itself would cause such a difference.

Would love to be proved wrong.

re: 2016 Volkswagen Vento Facelift spotted testing. EDIT: Launched

It is a near complete car now. Even 1.2 TSI is good for the car, 1.4 would certainly be mouthwatering.

The pricing of Gasoline HL @ 12.5 Lac is competitive if not great. The car should sell in good numbers. The changes are good and visible and will attract many who are looking for a proper sedan with decent engine specs, which is somehow missing these days.

In terms of good petrol engine and proper 4+ meter sedans, we are only left with Rapid, Vento, Linea (with turbo charged motors) and City (with iVTEC), no other petrol sedan is available with reasonably powerful engine in Petrol Avatar. Ciaz Petrol cannot make a cut here.

re: 2016 Volkswagen Vento Facelift spotted testing. EDIT: Launched

I am 99% sure its gonna be the same old 1.2 TSi. But, I am just curious, but who would want LED headlamps, 16" alloys & reverse camera instead of the 1.4 TSi under the hood?

If someone cares about fuel efficiency, there is of course the TDi. If someone wants a feature-packed car with the VW badge, there is the Ameo. So, why would VW just offer these "feature goodies" instead of a real performance upgrade?
