  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)
  • 3 point middle row belt + headrests
  • Heated ORVMs
  • Auto Headlamps
  • Auto Wipers
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Leather wrapped steering
  • Cruise Control
  • Seat Belt Reminder for all 5 seats
  • Seat Belt Pre-tensioners for all 5 seats.
As is said, the 3OO packs more equipment but lets try to analyse it a bit:
a) Auto headlamps, wipers and Cruise control are there in Brezza ZDi+ as well and still the Nexon manages decent numbers .
b) Now, let us try to allocate some value to all the additional features and my guess is that the delta should not be more than 50-60k.

Nexon XZ+ diesel is priced under 10 lacs while 300 is priced at 10.8 lacs. A straight difference of 85k. Add to that the TCS + Higher road tax and the on-road price difference would come to be around 1.2lacs.

Now, do you think the additional equipment is worth 1.2 lacs? I am not yet considering the discount that you would get on a Nexon.

Also, the Nexon offers rear ac vents and a much better boot space. I still haven't attached any value to this.

Re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

Am not sure how the market will react to this pricing and whether the price is worth it or not. The Brezza ZDi+ is 10,14000+ whereas the XUV300 W8 Diesel is 10,80,000 which is like a 65k difference, assuming all the features are same.

But having seen the Brezza, Nexon and Ecosport from close quarters and having driven them, you feel there is a sense of space and premiumness (exterior and interior) associated with the XUV300 when you see it and sit inside the cabin, atleast in W8 O that i checked.

The coming days will let us know.

Re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

I think with the current prices, there is absolutely no room left for them to launch at AT in the W(O) variant as that would just price itself out of the competition. The AT would be offered in the W6 and W8 variants as per me.

Also they didn't seem candid about the FE figures and rather mentioned the Engine torque figures. Are the ARAI numbers that different from what the competition is offering?

The site's live: https://www.mahindraxuv300.com

Brochures are available for download as well. Rear parking sensors seem to be missing in W4 and W6. Expecting a price bump soon after addition of new features.

Attaching the files here:

Didn’t see any ARAI Fuel efficiency figures in the brochure as well. What’s going on with Mahindra? Is the FE so different from the competition ?

It is to be seen now how people perceive the value proposition here.
I have EcoSport Titanium+ AT. With the current pricing of XUV300, it is almost same as my ES T+ AT. Comparing that to 300's W8(O), I will be missing out on Sunroof, Rear seat belt reminders. My ES also has 6 airbags, HSA, ESP, TSC, et all. I am yet to test drive 300, but having driven other Mahindra cars, I would still put my bet on Ford for its driving dynamics and niggle free electronics.

And you do get the advantage of an auto box as a trade-off.

Price Tracker - XUV3OO

The only interest here is to see how Tata Nexon sales will be affected by the XUV!

Re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

It is great that Mahindra is offering so many features in a compact car. But the question from the customers would be about the value proposition. Most of customers would have been happy if Mahindra had priced XUV300 W8 variant a little better by skipping a few features. And they could have added some features in W6 variant to make it more comparable to Nexon XZ+ and EcoSport Titanium. The space where these (diesel) variants operate 11-12L, XUV300's W6 variant fares poorly in terms of features. It will be interesting to see if XUV300 has a pull to make people spend 1 lac more for additional features. Personally, I would not spend so much for a car with such a small boot.

The pricing is probably why most people were sceptical, but it seems like they have already clocked 4000 plus bookings, the Nexon & brezza might be affected, as the 300 is just fresh off the oven.

Re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

The picture above shows how well priced the Tata Nexon actually is. Tata can plonk in one more variant above the XZ+ with the missing features to fill the gap better. And I owuld have to admit that the looks have actually grown on me over time, and now with the grey belt-line on new cars instead of the polarizing white strip makes the Nexon look quite good. We also get the practical boot along with the Nexon!
But somehow the 110 horses in the Nexon never seem to perform to their full potential, and the 300 Nm torque would actually be quite a joy to drive around.

EcoSport however is going to have a tough time with not enough features, or price difference, or the performance advantage to fight the XUV300. Would be interesting to see what Ford would do to retaliate this move from its partner in crime.

And for anyone who doesn't necessarily need the jumper seats at the back, TUV300 is just pointless.

Re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

It seems that the 3 point seat belt for the middle rear passenger and the rear seat belt reminder is present only on the top end W8(O). While I do appreciate Mahindra for offering these features, they should have made them standard on the XUV300. If not the seat belt reminders, atleast the proper 3 point seat belt should have been omnipresent.
