re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

Is it possible to get scoop about engine specs? I guess only brochure leak can confirm the bhp and torque figures of diesel engine. We keep hearing about brilliant 300NM torque.

Mahindra mentioned it in their press release. It is not speculation.

The engine spec has been confirmed by ACI, OD. It is gonna come with the downsized Marazzo engine, for tax benefit : 1.5L 122 PS 300 NM (diesel) and a 1.2 turbo petrol as well (which might be introduced later) with similar BHP and 200 NM of torque.

Turbo petrol will be launched on 14th Feb.

122 PS and 300 NM , really impressive figures for sub 4 metre SUV. This is similar to S-Cross 1.6 . What is the weight of XUV 300 1.5 diesel?

'Tivoli' can be read as "I love it" in reverse. That explains Feb 14th chosen as the launch date. With (expected) - Powerful D/P engines, good safety rating, Sunroof, all wheel disc brakes, 7 airbags, dual zone AC , will it be a new Valentine, with buyers ditching Brezza, Creta, Nexon etc Good pricing please, Mahindra.

re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

Overall great package by Mahindra! The overall external shape reminds of the Brezza, which is an inoffensive design and not a bad thing. I don't find the rear off-putting as others have mentioned. Good thing is they've thrown everything into it that customers would ask for.

Looking at the pictures shared till now, they could've done better with below points-

1) The W4 variant without the DRLs and fog lamp has only a big black plastic patch under the headlamps

2) The orange backlight on the dashboard looks old

Other than that I am excited about this. Knowing Marazzo, this should also get atleast 4 star safety rating, if not more. If priced well, this could spell doom for the already struggling EcoSport and threaten Nexon

Yup. The weight should be in the near abouts of 1300-1350 kgs. The performance must be strong with XUV300. Let's hope that the dynamic package it's able to complement it!

Boot space looks below average. Second row would be quite spacious for a sub four meter car I guess.

re: The Mahindra XUV300, aka Ssangyong Tivoli. Edit: Launched @ 7.9 lakhs

Are my eyes playing with me or I am drunk?

Sorry, I do not drink, I am only 15.

BUT in one of the pictures shared by BHPian Saurav Nair, I can see 3 seat belt signs which might mean that the XUV 300 is getting rear seat belt reminders. If yes, then kudos to Mahindra for trying to highlight the importance of rear seat belts.

After all, manufacturers with true Indian blood like Tata and Mahindra can only care for Indians by tring to highlight safety unlike others who have double standards, one for India, one for abroad.

Here is the picture with the seat belt signs highlighted.
