Media Drives are on. Pic from CarandBike twitter. Expect info to flow throughout the day.
Would be interesting to see how this shapes up. Diesel, petrol, Petrol AT, Standard Airbags across the range, 7 seats. Well loaded with features and of course its a Honda. Should the Creta be worried? I think it is clear that it is a Duster/Terrano/Creta and even XUV competitor. Hope they price it well under the Creta (maybe in the Duster range).

In addition, here is the production model BR-V on display for the media event. |
No touchscreen based HU?
That HU looks seriously outdated on the dashboard of a flagship product! Hope this is not the top spec model on display.

Nope. Even Autocar article has confirmed the same
"What might come as a disappointment to many buyers is the fact that there will not be a touchscreen infotainment system on any version of the BR-V. However, the audio player will allow Bluetooth telephony and audio streaming. Automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio buttons, push button start, electrically foldable outside rear-view mirrors, LED light guides and 16-inch alloy wheels are some of the other features that will be part of the kit on the top-spec versions."

Thanks. Unnecessary cost cutting IMO, probably to keep the launch prices under control. That HU looks seriously out of place on a flagship product.
Attaching a clearer picture from Shapur's twitter -

A bit disappointed. I guess Jazz's unit (with navigation/reversing camera) will be a dealer fitted option for 30k or 40k extra. To redeem themselves, Honda has to price the BRV well.
Steering mounted paddle shift is a pleasant surprise. And I'm happy that they have not changed the alloy design or size. Also, relieved that they have not beige-fied the interiors :)
What is LED light guides ?
I am pretty sure Touchscreen HU will be added as an option very soon. That "yet" in Shapur Kotwal's tweet makes me think that Touchscreen HU might not have been added because of supply issues.
Everybody even on a segment below has touchscreen HU, so I expect it to be added very soon. On the other hand, Jazz touchscreen HU looks so aftermarket, I would be happier choosing my own.
Hope Honda soon launches another topend like they did with BR-V with more features like enhanced lights, kit, Touchscreeen HU etc

I think it is the fancy name for parking lamps. Ford refers to the same for the Ecosport also.
Reference image of the Ecosport. Good in the dark. Not very visible during the day.
Meanwhile, Decent bootspace with last row up. No touchscreen AVN ICE in this segment is a big miss.

Nope. Here's a close shot of the central console of the BR-V:
We can see a leather-covered gearshift lever, leather seat covers, an Automatic Climate Control unit & the Bluetooth-based Head Unit. Pretty safe to assume that this is the top variant (VX) on display, and it doesn't have a touchscreen HU.
And a closer look at the steering wheel + Speedo:
No Cruise Control on offer, either. Maybe to keep the BR-V differentiated from the flagship City.
I really hope Honda India keeps the BR-V pricing rational. Pricing it much above the City range might be disastrous.

LED Light guides look like Honda's version of the Creta's LED parking/positioning lamps. Here they are in action:
Looks like the Media drive for BR-V is happening. A few twitter updates indicate so. Specifications reveal new 6 speed for Manual.
The CVT is expected to come with segment first paddle shifters.
Ground Clearance of 210mm.

ACI has got quite a few good quality shots in their
gallery page. DO check them out
From the same
ACI link posted above, here are some important shots:
Front seats look nicely bolstered, with plenty of side/back/under-thigh support.
The Middle Row seems very comfortable, on line with the Mobilio.
The BR-V's trump card - the Third Row. Headroom seems to be lesser on offer, plus it's lacking under-thigh support as well.
Also, notice how high the headrest is set at! Would it be comfortable enough? Team-BHP's official review will tell.
The rear AC vent section for the rear passengers.

Third row looks useable enough! :thumbs up
Not able to see reverse parking sensors on the rear bumper. Hope its due to the black cladding! Its a must for a seven seater.

Also, the fixed third row grab handle seems awfully close to the head of the passenger!
Seems like left-side head-bumps on the grab handle are a given on long journeys, specially on twisties.
A better location for it could have been right above the rear quarter glass.

I was reading on oncars.in that there is no touchscreen on offer for any variants. A detailed spec sheet would be very useful :)
Any news on the variants and features offered ! Really looking forward to do a comparo between them.
