Thanks to my cousin, Dr. Naveen for the photograph!!

The car was spotted at Kasaragod, Kerala. We never see any test mules in this part of country :)

Looks like the vehicle is being tested pan India, from Leh to Kanyakumari. What next, desert of Rajasthan to the china border in Arunachal?

Would now have to compare the Registration number of the vehicle, to see if it is the same vehicle being tested across or is it a different one.stupid:

It looks like beefed up Bolt and the engine capacity seems to be inadequate for its size. Otherwise, Tata's build quality has significantly improved and new designs are a welcome change.

How is the engine capacity inadequate for its size? It will be getting a 110 bhp diesel mill and petrol will be around the 100 bhp mark as well.

Infact the diesel will be the most powerful in terms of power and torque.

Tata is reportedly targeting an end-August 2017 launch.

At loooong last! This has been a case of one of the most exciting looking car with a most boring looking launch, read most delayed. I hope they launch AT variant too. It has to be a diesel and AT for me. Even AMT would do. Looking forward to the launch.

Too early to pass any sort of judgement over this.

We don't have exact power/torque figures of both motors, and neither do we have the unladen/laden weight numbers of the car.

Real-world performance, per tonne numbers & 0-40/0-100 kmph runs will indicate how good or bad the engine capacity is, before we can deem it as adequate or inadequate for the car's size, shape or weight.

From the feedback I am receiving though, the diesel is turning out to be quite the stellar one. Packs a mid-range punch unlike any other in it's segment.

A couple of new spyshots:

Though looks special compared to hatch backs, the diminutive size will seize some of the SUV feel. Having a tail-gate mounted spare wheel will enhance the looks, IMO.

Stretch it to 4.5m, and you have a very good-looking SUV to fight against the Cretas and Dusters.

I don't think this statement has any basis. Both engines will be 110 bhp. I tried to tail a test vehicle once - failed miserably. This is a scorcher. Can easily attain and maintain 150+ kmph consistently.

Shh...dont let the municipal authorities hear you or they will take that as a challenge!stupid:

I just somehow feel like many others felt, the smiling grille, reminiscent from the Indica age should be retired, soon! It looks good on the tiago but with Nexon, it somehow resembles much more like the Indica-Bolt-Family.

Right. Especially with Nexon. But I doubt it. Even Hexa comes with same pattern grille.

YouTube user Anwar Hussain followed the Nexon test mules early last month on the dirty, half-existent mountain roads at Baralacha La, Himachal Pradesh.

Gives us a good idea of the workings of the suspension and perceptible body roll related to the Nexon, as it tackles rough roads in hilly terrain.

YouTube user Sandeep Chowdary snapped the exteriors & interiors of a Nexon test mule in an undisclosed parking lot about 10 days back.

Fair idea only and Not much. The camera being hand-held, the movements are exaggerated. So we have the camera that is moving a lot, and the Nexon's a certain distance away. The distance is not allowing to see how much the Nexon is affected by the undulations of the road..

Spotted on the streets of Trivandrum by a Motorbeam reader.
