re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

Are there photos of the Nexon with its competitors, i.e. Brezza & EcoSport? Frontal, Rear and Side views?

Apologies if already on earlier pages and I missed out.

Did TATA announce the booking numbers for Nexon yet?

Quoting my own TD experience from 5 pages back:

Recently it has been discovered by me that people are concerned regarding the rear seat space of Nexon. I particularly found it to be roomy and here is a proof of the same:

We can see three adults (two with large frames and one medium) in the rear seat, although its a bit of squeeze for them but still they are seated quite abreast. I doubt if Brezza has a wider back seat as much the Nexon has.

Aha, numbers say this:
Nexon rear seat width: 137 cm
Vitara Brezza rear seat width: 135 cm

2 centimeters

AutoPortal has now DISABLED COMMENTS for this video. Hilarious..!!

Going by the number of dislikes the video has generated, I won't be surprised if the Video is pulled down from the Channel altogether.

Wow the prices of few gadgets are very steep. The BP 2.0 dash cam (Item no 21) can be bought from Amazon for 2500rs right now whereas it's quoted for more than it's MRP here.

re: The Tata Nexon, now launched at Rs. 5.85 lakhs

He dissed Nexon's city riding, which I found totally opposite. City driving is its strength and with 6 gears, so should highway driving.

Having taken multiple drives of the diesel I'm totally convinced of the buy.

My likes:
Strong Diesel Engine
Unbelievable Audio Experience - the best in its class across segments
Interior quality; knobs, dash etc
Built solid, like a tank
Power modes, you can actually feel the difference
Commanding seating position
Distinct international class styling, true to its original form
16" Machine cut wheels & Grippy tyres
Superb suspension - recent rains/non-existent roads provided ample opportunity to test it to the limits
100% flip & flat fold rear seat with 60:40 split
Shark fin antenna with GPS
Sliding Tambour door
Rear blower
Button press glove compartment with separations and cooling
Button access rear camera

Dislikes:
Service, a big question mark
Horn felt weak, but not sure as sound insulation is super
Laggy touchscreen
Overhead light console looks and feels cheap
Rear seat entry could be wider
One needs to climb in (Mom could find it tough)
No IOS support (Only Android)
Sunglass holder is namesake and doesn't tumble down (really annoying)
Only tilt steering not reach
Short front center arm rest
No concealed seat under tray
No rain sensing wipers
No cruise control
No auto headlamp
Did not notice outside temperature display
Front accessory sockets bit inside, so tough to access
Clutch is too close to leg rest, takes some adjustment
No idea about dust and pollen filter
No back pocket on front seat
No front footwell illumination
No way to increase/decrease illumination of dials
Not sure if rear passengers get a light (will check tomorrow)

These features are top of mind right now fresh after the drive, there could be more. But I have decided to take the plunge and take delivery at the earliest. Feel proud this is a TATA and conceived in India. Brezza, be prepared!

Off-topic but he just lost all his credibility out there. And to disable the comments is just a way of admitting to what everyone is accusing him off. So in a way he has confirmed that he did a biased review for Maruti.

I can understand that media drives are tight and there is a race to release the videos on YouTube first. That is how the business of YouTube works. A day's delay might cost thousands of views.

It's okay to do that in a review of a single car. They might have driven the diesel earlier but might have had more time in the petrol car and so he might have shot the diesel engine part of the review in a petrol car.

But to do so in a comparison review is blasphemous. Was there a Vitara Brezza in the Nexon media drive? The mods who covered the media drive please reply .

There can only be three scenarios
1. There was no Brezza in the media drive. In that case, he would have got both the cars in his place. If that's the case, he could have taken his own sweet time in shooting the review.

2. If the Brezza was there, the criticism is unwarranted but he could have put up a disclaimer.

3. Both the cars weren't even driven together. In that case , it's not a comparison at all. Just video editing - cut copy and paste. This is not a comparison at all and he has no business reviewing cars if this is the case.

Going through the video again to do more analysis.

I understand the official review is going to be out any of these days, but any idea if it is going to be within a day or two?

Looks like Maruti is worried about Tata's new products!

Look at this comparison http://www.news18.com/news/auto/2017...s-1528383.html

Yikes! They have written this:

"Maruti Suzuki Dzire holds a massive advantage over the Tata Nexon as it comes with an AMT gearbox in both the diesel and petrol variants (4 variants to be precise). Tata Nexon, on the other hand, comes with a 6-speed MT gearbox only. An AMT unit will follow soon, but it will most likely be part of the petrol engine."

Too bad we can't yet rate web pages and reviews.

That article clearly shows the butterflies in maruti's stomach!!
6-speed MT only in Nexon??? Like, really??? Who are they trying to fool here?

Just waiting eagerly for the Diesel AMT Nexon. Looking at the launch price of Nexon, I am hoping that the AMT will be priced agressively as well.
Just wish that TATA provides Hill hold feature at the minimum for the AMT. That alone will seal the deal for me!
