Re: Fiat Qubo & Doblo spotted testing in India!

May be practical, but will NOT sell in India. I don't think it would be introduced either.

Re: Fiat Qubo & Doblo spotted testing in India!

Don't think this is being tested. White plates and no camouflage.

It is probably imported by someone for personal use or by Fiat itself for whatever reasons that they might have.

But then the question: Why would someone pick these designs in the first place and then decide and spend on importing it too.

But this is definitely not testing for launch in India (lack of camouflage + white plates) and we should all be thankful.

Re: Fiat Qubo & Doblo spotted testing in India!

Spoted it near Kharadi chowk (pune - Nagar road) today morning. Sorry, couldn't clicked photo as I was driving. Same white color, with white board number plate and no camouflage. There is only one person driving the car and from the look, seems like a driver rather than owner who might have imported this one.
Indian market still not ready for this market, I dont think fiat is trying lunch this one from their stable to increase their sell. May be a base car to test engine or other components rather that the car itself.

Fiat would be shooting themself in the head (forget foot) if they decide to launch such Ugly looking vehicles in India. The only company which can carry off an ugly design is Maruti.

Fiat has been unable to sell decently engineered and good looking cars like Punto and Linea. I dont think anyone in Fiat India, would even in their wildest dream think of launching such odball cars in India. This may be here for some other purpose rather than testing for an impending launch.

I'm gonna go against the tide and say that it'd work in India as a trusted workhorse. Commercially, this could see adaptation by BPO/call centre employees as well as for photographers and as a second car to ferry people around. The USP could be its seating and dimensions which is quite unlike any other in India and I personally see untapped potential. Bring it on Fiat!

Would be interesting to see the bootspace it offers. If it is the least in the class (Go+) then it is not going to sell. When the more roomier Evalia could not sell, I am sceptical of this doing well. And this is not going to be light considering it is sold in European market, so mileage figures may not be the best in class

Re: Fiat Qubo & Doblo spotted testing in India!

These cars were probably too ugly to find takers elsewhere. So Fiat must have thought, why not dump them on the Indian market? In any case some have been constantly clamouring for new Fiat launches here.

Re: Fiat Qubo & Doblo spotted testing in India!

Spotted the Qubo and Doblo on Hosur road today. I was standing on the roadside, they were on the service road stuck in a minor jam.

For those that are interested, here is a link to the brochure I downloaded from FIAT UK website. Sorry, can't upload to the website as it is more than 5MB.

How is the Nissan evalia different from this? It was boxy 90's van too and it had a reliable diesel unit as well! And decently priced if I'm not wrong. India has moved on and even the cabbies prefer the expensive Innova to the cheaper xylo or enjoy.
