Ford India has expanded the over-the-counter (OTC) sales of genuine spare parts, by appointing VST Ford Spares as its exclusive distributor for Ford Genuine Service parts in Bangalore.

VST Ford Spares is located at 80/A2, 1st Main, 3rd Cross, Industrial Suburb, II stage, Yaswanthpura, Bangalore, and will cater to retailer and independent repair shops across the state of Karnataka.

Ford plans to expand its retail distribution network to Kerala, Maharashtra and East of India in the next phase.

Some other key initiatives undertaken by Ford in ensuring customer convenience include:

• Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs: The ‘Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs’ enables a substantial saving in the overall ownership costs by breaking up an auto part into sub-components. Ford’s latest offering Figo Aspire offers unparalleled ownership experience with close to 850 parts available under sub assembly.

• Localization & Competitive Parts Pricing: Ford has worked with supplier base to attain increased levels of localization on the products, thereby achieving competitive price points while maintaining high quality.

• Ford’s Happy Pockets Service: continues to be an important CoO initiative that allows Ford car owners to avail and experience Ford’s quality service starting at just Rs. 2,199.

• Ford Vehicle Personalisation Centre: The centre provides customized vehicle personalisation options to customers to make their Ford cars look ‘distinctly theirs’. Ford is the first auto maker to bring customization to the mass market. Such options are usually restricted to high-end luxury cars. The option is currently available on Ford EcoSport.

Ford continues to offer several other customer focused initiatives such as pan-India Roadside Assistance, 90 minute-Quick Service Bays, Mobile Service Vans, and Vehicle report card as part of its commitment.

Welcome move by Ford.
At least it gets noticed by masses who are price sensitive. Believe me, Ford service had improved a lot and almost equal to the best in the market (at least in Hyderabad). I have serviced my Ecosport TDCi for 30k interval last month, the total bill was 5200 Rs and I am having wonderful experience with Ford service since last 10 years.

Good move by Ford. They should go a step further, and do courier deliveries in any PIN code, say, with no Ford service centre for more than 50 Km. This can help drive the adoption of Ford cars outside the big metros.

But the genuine Ford parts are already available over the counter at many parts in Kerala!

This is a very positive move. I believe this has got some serious traction among manufacturers since CCI started imposing hefty fines on monoopoly and unethical competitive practices

Is it possible to get a price list for the Aspire parts. I'm buying the base model and plan to add parts later. Parts like the MyFord Dock, ac vent chrome rings, gear knob, and even the tacho if possible. Any help in upgrading to Trend would be appreciated.

Autoji Ford Parts is located at 17/8, D1 Block, MIDC Chinchwad, Pune.

Speaking at the occasion, N Prabhu, vice president, Ford customer service operations, Ford India, said “As we introduce new products and bring more customers to Ford fold, we are committed to ensure convenience and easy availability of genuine spare parts. With the continued expansion of our retail distribution network, we will be closer to our customers by ensuring a reliable and improved customer experience.”

Autoji Ford Parts, Ford’s exclusive distributor based in Pune, has started retailing Ford Genuine service parts to retailers and independent repair shops. Inaugurated by N Prabhu, vice president, Ford customer service operations, the 2000 sq. ft. facility is located at 17/8, D1 Block, MIDC Chinchwad, Pune and will help Ford streamline its parts supply network in Maharashtra and Goa.

Ford plans to expand the retail distribution of Ford Genuine parts to Gujarat, Rajasthan and Eastern India in the next phase. The move is a part of Ford India's strategy to target the mass market. The expansion on the parts and service front is essential to improve its after sales reputation, which isn't as good as that of brands like Maruti.

I took your advice and did call them. The parts for the Aspire are available on order.

While interacting with them over whatsapp I got a sneak peek into their internal ordering system. Looks very comprehensive and you can easily imagine how they have separated the car into 850 child parts. Way to go Ford.
