Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

The discount is valid for both. But the Trend+ misses out on some key features:

1. Alloys - even if I buy aftermarket I won't get buyback for existing rims
2. The net difference between old Titanium and new Trend+ is coming out to be 32k with Trend+ being cheaper
3. The net difference between old Titanium and new Titanium is coming out to be 42k with old car being cheaper (actually if you get the old Titanium minus spare wheel the difference would be 48k)

What you do get in old Titanium vs new Trend+:

1. 3.5 MFD display with reverse parking sensors and display
2. Alloy wheels and fatter tires
3. Bits of Chrome here and there
4. SYNC from Microsoft for whatever its worth
5. CD Player
6. Leather wrapped (partial) steering wheel
7. Leather wrapped gear knob
8. Arm Rest
9. Lumbar Support
10. 12V charger in the rear
11. Rear parking sesnsors
12. Cooled Glove Box
13. One Touch window up down driver/passenger

What you miss is extra 10ps of power. I am not saying one is bad or the other. I would have gone for the new Titanium and still in 2 minds. But after a brief test drive I didn't find the upgrade worthy of the extra 40k I would have had to shell out.

I think the situation is changed now. Earlier the difference was higher as only the prefacelifts were being sold at a discount. But now that is not the case anymore as discounts are being offered on facelifts as well.
In my case :
a) Difference between old Titanium and new Titanium was quite significant.
b) Old Titanium was Cheaper than Trend+

The net difference between old Titanium and new Titanium is 42k for you even after discounts on both is a gr8 deal. If you have chosen old Titanium, you have chosen wisely.

Regarding the scuff plates, Ford is asking for 2000 for Stainless Steel and nearly 6000 for Illuminated ones which seem to be on the higher side. Any suggestions/feedback regarding options available online would be appreciated.

I don't like the illuminated scuff plates for these reasons:
  1. It taps into the wiring, which I hate doing on modern cars
  2. It is bulky compared to the plain stainless steel scuff plates
  3. It is expensive

When it comes to the EcoSport's stainless steel scuff plates bear in mind that Ford gives only 2 plates, for the rocker panels for the front 2 doors:

For the rear rocker panels, I have put 3M's paint protection film (PPF) to protect them from footwear. I like this option because the film is flexible, and is able to better contour itself to the curves of the rear rocker panels. This PPF costs Rs. 500 per square foot.

On the other hand, if you look at the Figo or Aspire's scuff plates, they come as a set of 4, one for each door. However, the plates at the rear are laughably small, and probably useless. More interestingly, this set of 4 scuff plates costs just 1050.

I don't know if the Figo/Aspire's scuff plates can be fitted on the EcoSport, they are probably sized and contoured to the respective cars. But, with this price in hand you should be able to negotiate the price of the EcoSport's scuff plates downwards.

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

Drove the updated EcoSport TDCi and there is a marked difference in power delivery over the old one. The enhanced spread of torque really helps drivability. Second gear doesn't feel laborious at all. The engine felt more like the Fiesta than Aspire. But that is expected given the weight. I would pick the updated EcoSport over the old just for this engine.

No idea on the suspension as the drive was on well paved roads. It felt the same.

And if I am not mistaken, the switch for the lights has 4 positions now. 1) Signature Light 2) Park Light 3) Headlight 4) Auto light. So, the off position in the older car has been replaced by the Signature Light. There is no off position now, and at 12 o'clock position, it is the park light which is on. The Signature light is very subtle and hard to notice in the afternoon sun, but I prefer this to the floodlight treatment which was available in the i-gen i20.

Thanks for the quick response. So far my experience with the Ford dealers indicate that they do not negotiate at least on the accessories part. So i think i would need to look at the stainless steel options outside. But it would be worth trying.

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

Ford Ecosport sells 3417 units this month arresting the down trend in the last few months. It was placed 7th in the C2 segment last month. Now placed at 6th beating S Cross.

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

Hi, what kind of discount is Ford offering for Ecosports in Bangalore? Can we expect anything more than what has been mentioned in their Ads. Also, are they still selling pre-facelift Ecosports here?

thanks!

Very Interesting Link....
(Mahindra TUV300 vs Ford EcoSport - Comparison Review | MotorBeam)

Mahindra TUV300 has beaten Ford EcoSport in sales. Personally i think both the cars cater to slightly separate segments.Ford EcoSport for the Truly Urban and Mahindra TUV300 for Rural and Semi Urban.

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

Need feedback from new ecosport owners in october/november 2015. Did anyone get the extended warranty. My dealer is saying that the EW has been delayed and will get it by next week only i.e. mid november.

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

So brought home the 2015 EcoSport Titanium Tdci 1.5 home last night.

Mods pending:

1. Evoque style projector lamps
2. Upgraded tyres and perhaps alloys
3. Black mat roof

I had booked the Titanium 2014 however after a few discussions here and there I decided to go with the latest for whatever its worth. The net difference between the outgoing model and the new factoring in the discounts came to about 25k factoring in the increased ex-showroom.

In the 25k what I essentially ended up getting was the following:

> DRL or signature light (going to swap these out anyways)
> Start Stop Button
> 100 PS

And most importantly for my wife... bragging rights

Re: Ford EcoSport facelift launched at Rs. 6.79 lakh

Looking for firsthand feedback wrt build quality from the old-gen and 2015 models. Is the build quality same as pre-facelift or is it like the new gen figo and aspire (thin metal)
