Excellent Pricing by Hyundai.

A 1.6L Petrol Sedan with 120+ horses for less than 1 Million INR on-Road!

The difference between the Petrol EX & SX is very nominal (Rs 44K).
Those who were getting confused between EX & SX, have a very clear choice now.

Are you guys confusing yourself with the screenshot of the outgoing version pasted in the previous page? There it says 4 speed, because the outgoing version is!

New Verna gets a 6 speed AT.

Both of you are confusing yourselves with the older Verna 4S, the new one does not carry forward that old 4-speed autobox.

Yes when it comes to Diesel there is a difference of 1.12 lakh. Considering difference is very minimal in petrol but what exactly has changed in Diesel EX and SX which commands so much premium.

The 2017 Hyundai Verna

So Hyundai have played it smart here. You can add 10% GST cess to all the ex showroom prices very shortly. 10% additional cess on the GST will translate to around 12.5% on the OTR costs. So it will look like a fantastic launch price.

Overall very happy with this pricing. This is the most level headed pricing we have seen from Hyundai in a long time. Clap!

re: The 2017 Hyundai Verna. Launched at 8 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi

The Ex AT model sounds exciting for those looking at the AT variant. Has most of the features of the higher SX(0) . In-fact, I think the only substantial omission are the 5 inch head unit in place of the 7 inch, 15 inchers in place of the 16 and sun- roof. Now to see if the City V AT edges it on the creature comforts.

I own a 2015 Verna 4S and can attest that you can cruise comfortably even at speeds above that without any instability.

I simply fail to understand this idiotic mind-set of Hyundai. In the 4S they skimped by not providing a fully-loaded Petrol AT. And now they have skimped by not providing a fully-loaded Diesel AT. Why cant they provide the same variants across both petrol and diesel and MT and AT and let the customer choose the variant he/she is most comfortable with?

Hyundai just priced both petrol and diesel as per competition which is Honda City in this case. Verna variants are similar to City variants in most cases. Pricing wise Hyundai is undercutting the City for each variant except high end.

Also, in case of EX diesel, I think Hyundai priced it below 10 lakhs as in most states, 10 lakhs+ ex-showroom price will attract extra taxes.

re: The 2017 Hyundai Verna. Launched at 8 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi

I am bit confused here. With just a difference of 50K Petrol SX gets all the below over Petrol EX:

(Source: Autocar India)
Electrochromic rear-view mirror
Projector headlamps
LED daytime running lamps
Cornering lamps
Height-adjustable front seat belts
16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with 195/55 R 16 tyres
7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with IPS display
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link
Front tweeters
Power folding wing mirrors

Does this make Petrol EX redundant? Why would anyone go for this?

If possible can you add Creta prices to the comparison? Would like to see how a buyer would feel and choose Verna over Creta when they see them side by side in the same showroom.

By the way I also feel it is excellent pricing considering the engines on offer. But if you compare it with Ciaz Diesel it feels like mouth watering price. Ciaz Alpha and Verna Sx. What do you miss? apart from Smart key with push button start and Leather Upholstery.

The reason is quite evident with the price of the manual top end diesel. Adding an AT on the manual top would have meant, it being costlier than Skoda Rapid AT and almost equivalent to Vento AT.

That would have been a deal breaker for many. Not that skimpying on features would not be but then companies position their product for the masses not enthusiasts like you and me.

At Elroy Hyundai in Chattarpur area of New Delhi.

The New Verna is still under wraps. There is minimal interest in the car
There are just me and one another customer waiting for the launch.
