The new Skoda Superb testing in India on the road to Lavasa, outside Pune. The car is expected to be displayed at the Auto Expo 2016 for a launch later that year.

Well, Skoda sales personnel are in training over the weekend. Maybe for a soft launch over Diwali for the new Superb :-)?

The current Superb kits are nearly exhausted is what I hear.

As per a report on Motoroids, the new Superb will be launched in India in Jan 2016 and also showcased at the Auto Expo. The article speculates a price between 24-30L

Earlier last month, we gave you the spy images of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Superb. Now the news is out that the all new 2016 Skoda Superb is set for a India launch in January 2016 and is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2016.

The petrol configs will be like –

1.4 TSI (125 PS-200 Nm)
1.4 TSI (150 PS-250 Nm)
1.8 TSI (180 PS-250 Nm)
2.0 TSI (220 PS-350 Nm)
2.0 TSI (280 PS-350 Nm)
The diesel engine line up will comprise of –

1.6 TDI (120 PS-250 Nm)
2.0 TDI (150 PS-340 Nm)
2.0 TDI (190 PS-400 Nm)

I assume these are the engine combo's available internationally. Would be great if all of them actually come here.

Thanks, anything more than 250 Nm torque and they will need the DQ500 gearbox which they have shied away from for the Indian market. Fact is they need to avoid cannibalizing the Octavia sales which also has the 1.8 TSI with 178 bhp.

Visually is there any difference between the one showcased internationally, except for the alloys of course! Looks more understated than I expected it to.

Unlikely as everything anyway comes as a CKD from Skoda CZ.

While they may have tropicalized certain components (hopefully!) and provided a 'rough road' package suited to our terrible roads, the exteriors should largely be the same.

When is the launch? Understand that Skoda is not participating at the Auto Expo 2016. Will be good marketing to launch it mid-Jan and get some dedicated publicity.

A big birdy told me that they want to build up some stock and avoid the shortages that have been happening for the Octavia, espacially since March is the financial year end etc.
