Don't think the sales are affected here due to the scandal.
Not entirely correct, they also found that VW had cheated with their Petrol engines also with respect to CO2 emissions and fuel consumption:

The above news is said to have a greater impact on VW, than what the NOX issue did to them.

Would not affect the locally built VW's petrol cars.

As far as we know, the cheat "inconsistencies" has only discovered in cars with 1.4 litre engines ( Golf & Polo's).

Wait till the end of today. VW ( Audi and Skoda included) is set to recall cars in India. Details will be posted on their web page.

I was hoping for the info to come in much before the deadline of end on month, November. Seems like VW india is fully localised ;-) .

Here is the NGT related news,
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...w/49979979.cms

I am sure that VW also has the answers and are ready with an all India plan. The plan for EU and US are still in draft phase and I don't expect VW India to be more proactive than their developed country counterparts.

However, timing of response from VW will be crucial following these reasons,
1. Its end of year, post the Indian festive season and sales are naturally slow.
2. This is the time of the year prospective customers will seek discounts to buy a 2015 vehicle, adding additional $ burden
3. The response in India has been slow already showing its impact on the sales (will wait for the Nov figures to come to substantiate this).
4. Sales people (the fresh men) are leaving to other dealers fearing their careers. This I got to know from dealers.
5. Lack on transparency from VW india to the people in the trenches @ showrooms. They are not in a position to really tell new customers that the cars are a safe buy

VW Group to recall over 3,20,000 cars in India.

All diesel cars sold with EA-189 engines found fitted with illegal software. ARAI testing cars on-road to see if they flout Indian emission norms.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove lower bumper front grill in Vento 2015? I am planing to install Hella 50ff and wanted to check if we have enough space for these lights.

Name: VentoLowerBumperGrill.png
Views: 3820
Size: 249.0 KB

I don't want to break clips that hold this grill, hence asking if anyone else has tried or has schematic of new Vento bumper.

Regards.

What VAG has done is utterly disgusting and they will pay for all their mistakes everywhere.

Quick update on my probable Vento purchase, I have decided to cancel it and get the Verna Fluidic 4S, SX(O) AT instead of the VW Vento.

Coming to the interesting part now, the sales guys from VAG have stopped calling me trying to persuade for the Vento purchase ever since this news came out.

Secondly, I have a friend working with VW who says that there is an issue with the Petrol cars also(CO2 emissions and fuel efficiency numbers).

IMO, that will be a bigger problem for VW if that is also true.

Also, the other problem for existing owners is the drastic reduction in the resale price of their VW cars.

Nothing will happen it would normalise after a period of time. Just like in case of coca cola and maggi. VW cars are good products and if there is small software update that can correct the mistake its all good then. IMO people are over reacting to this.

It looks like a big joke to me if they really ban VW car sales in India. A large percent of of buses, trucks and autos running in our country emit much higher percent of pollutants

I'm not disregarding the fault on VW side. What they did is pure fraud.

Btw, I'm planning to visit VW showroom tomorrow. to check discounts or offers on Vento and Polo

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Right from the replacement of faulty fuel injectors during the guarantee period, to sorting out of fuel pump issues in innumerable diesel ventos, Volkswagen India has always treated customer issues with scant respect or value, and their arrogance is not going to change because of this "international fraud" and the consequent legal actions.

This issues will also get blown under the carpet with time and unless consumer laws in the country become more stringent and grow tooth to hold manufacturers accountable, Volkswagen need not even bother to listen to consumers; forget sorting out their grievance.

I sincerely hope not.

I hope government imposes serious penalties on VW and make it a painful lesson so all car manufacturers take notice. It would be really bad if companies get away with cheating like this.

What they did is pure intentional fraud, and they need to be taught a lesson.

Re: 2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift : A Close Look

Hi

I've got the 2015 Vento Facelift.
Bought it 2 months back.

I'm suddenly hearing squeaking noises from the front suspensions of my car when they pass bumps or uneven roads.
The noise is extremely prominent when the windows are rolled down.
The rear suspension seems fine with no noise whatsoever even on rocking the car up&down on standstill.

Contacted the service advisor, he said that the squeaking from the suspension was normal and that it was cause the Vento uses Hydraulic suspension instead of the Gas suspension.

I'm not very satisfied with his explanation.
Could some fellow Vento owners help me out.

Thanks a lot !
