That speaks a lot
Ravi sir about how good the Elite really is clap:
One thing what I have really observed during my last 2 Hyundai car purchases is that the dealer tends to stick loads of labels on the windshield. It is really good that you have got rid of them on your son's Active :thumbs up
Got My i20 1.2SX Avn ceremonial delivery today without registration in Coimbatore, due Chennai rains causing major disturbances of e-registration.
Pointers
1.Booked my car right on time(GM remarked) before the Floods in chennai. My car reached Coimbatore on 1st December when rains commenced in chennai.
2. All the cars in hyundai yard at present are affected by the floods, delaying their shipping and some to undergo further PDI.
3.Did my PDI completely with co operation of my SA.
4.Found rust on the wheel areas. Posting their pictures for reference. I am positive this is under acceptable extend, please advise.
Happy Motoring!

Sir, did you get the one with the blue interiors or the one with orange accent interiors.
The blue ones look funky and a welcone change from the usual beige and blacks.
Is the incresed ground clearance acutually felt on the road ? Does it save the car from actually scrapping the big bumps and the like?
The only additions I believe are the cladding, projector lamps, new interiors, ground clearance and the spare alloy wheels.

Phantom Black comes with Tangerine Orange accent and gear knob top.

No. I test-drove Elite and Active back to back on Mysore Road. I didn't feel any difference in ride and handling between the two.

Very much. The enhanced ground clearance of 190 mm is the main reason for our selection of i20 Active. Ford Aspire with 174 mm ground clearance and 5 people on board scraped a huge hump.

Aluminium pedals, second power outlet, DRL, cornering lamps, roof rails, rear spoiler, chrome outside door handles, different diamond cut alloy wheels [4 only], micro antenna, are the other features of i20 Active. Phantom Black colour is exclusively available in i20 Active only.
After a lot of deliberations, booked an i20 Active today. Booked the Diesel SX(O) in Earth Brown colour. Considered Ecosport and S-Cross 1.3, but finally decided on the i20 because of the sheer VFM (relatively) and the fact that it simply meets all requirements.
Fingers crossed on delivery and subsequent ownership experience!!
We have been hearing about Elite I20 getting DRL's and Projector Lamps on the Top end ASTA(O), is there news of any update on Active also to justify the 1 Lac plus price difference between them.
Can anyone please confirm if the 2016 Active SX(O) comes with autodimming IRVM or not ??

Hi, is petrol engine really bad on the i20 active or is it not as sporty like the cRDi, for under 1000km (city/long drives). Booked it already and awaiting delivery next week. |
I don't feel Active's 1.2 petrol engine that bad for normal commuting. Infact I love driving it in city.
True, it's not revv-friendly and sporty as the 1.4 crdi. But for mild drivers who drive more in city less than 1000 kms per month, I think 1.2 petrol is not a bad option, at least not for me.

And please a realistic FE... |
My Active 1.2 has crossed 4000 kms and I usually get 12-13 kmpl in normal city use. Once during a highway trip, I got around 15 kmpl and that was the best FE so far.

We (me & younger brother) manage ~17 kmpl on highways... obviously on wider national highways we have up North. but, those are realistic numbers that you have quoted.
i20 1.2L petrol is not at all bad for Indian sane speeds.
HI
Congratulations itssmano and Ravi for the new car.
Finally decided to go for i20 Active SX AVN.
In fact we preferred Baleno. Baleno has 4 to 6 months waiting period in Gurgaon. So decided to go for i20 Active.
Can somebody confirm whether i20 Active SX AVN has the following features?
1. Auto dimming IRVM.
2. Speed sensing autodoor lock
Thanks

1. SX comes with plain IVRM and so no auto-dimming. The reverse camera display is in the AVN. The "S" variant has the display in the IVRM and so is the auto-dimming feature.
2. Speed sensing auto door lock is not available. However by default this option is disabled. As per the i20-Elite thread, the BCM option can be enabled. Good luck in explaining this to Hyundai SA and he inturn agrees to turn this on. I'm going to try this myself on my first service which turns-up in couple of weeks.
SX AVN does not get Auto Dimming mirror and reverse camera input on AVN.
SX gets an Auto Dimming IRVM.
Autolock function doesn't exist.
It is a wow if it can be enabled, please let us. Know how it is done.
Thanks
Thanks iamswift, itssmano for the information . Please update if you are able to activate Door lock feature
Krish
