If you zoom in a bit you will notice the key hole on the passengers side, right after the camouflage. It might just be a a bit of work on the handle.

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

The cowl covering the speedo gauges are prone to rattles in few XUVs (I am suffering from it right now :(). I see in one of the pics that the cowl is also camoed. Looks like it is changing too.

Secondly Looks like one of the two black whiskers is going too. I could see the black portion (that is the upper black portion in the current design) flowing right till the bottom of the grill.

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

I sure hope the cowl covering does get a overhaul. One pic also show the camouflage covering the central console (hopefully fixing that stupid glare).

So far the changes being showed are minimal and the major portion of the vehicle seems unchanged.

Since all the changes will be fitting in the same dimensions of the present vehicle, I am hoping to have the liberty of having those parts in the older vehicles changed to the new ones if liked, better to pay for a part which I like than buying a new vehicle.

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

Have spotted it twice in Chennai. Once at Mylapore, next time at Guindy. Its too fast to click pic. Zoomed around from the traffic.

Is it some kind of speed testing in city going on? May be for automatic transmission, city driving conditions, pick up etc is being tested !

It was driven in the same way when I spotted it for the first time! didn't try to keep up with him as he was too fast.

A slightly cleaner look without the extra panels in the front. Looks much nicer now. Doubt they'll opt for a cleaner look though. Mahindra believes in bling, in your face designs.

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

Came across this on FB:

Quote:
One of my friend who is a sales executive at my dealer informed me that a facelifted model of the Xuv had a visit at the service center for some checkups. It was covered with camouflage. They noticed few changes in both exterior and interior.
* New front grill
* Redesigned front bumper
* Interior feels more upmarket
* Chrome elements comes as standard in few parts of the exterior including front grill
* Better suspension

More upmarket interiors and better suspension would be nice.

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

Guys, I am planning to buy XUV5OO and wondering whether to wait for this updated XUV. I am ready to wait until end of March.

Is anyone aware of the launch date of the updated XUV? Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I think its indeed a keyless entry option. camouflage should have been there on all four handles, if it was a modification to handles

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

New pics emerge of the facelift, new features which can be clearly identified are:
  • Blackened headlights with clear lens indicators
  • Revised LED DRLs/parking lights (like Scorpio)
  • Fog lamps moved upwards (maybe in place of the infamous whiskers!)
  • Sleeker black grille with chrome inserts (like the new Scorpio)
  • Y spoke alloy wheels
  • Keyless entry on the door handles
  • Sunroof
  • Longer number plate bar at the rear with chrome inserts

I wonder if we can get the keyless entry system installed on the current models. It would be nice to have that option. Rest of the new features I don't mind not having them.

If the DRLs are actually capable of running in day time then good, or else still no point.

Keyless entry on the door handles - You mean Smart entry ? If so there is a fair chance for a push button start/stop as well.

The feature list looks like XUV 500 face-lift will give a hard time for a potential buyer to choose between XUV & Fortuner - especially for the one's looking for W8 and AWD.

Yes, some manufacturers call it smart entry, some call it keyless.

M&M has a habit of giving strange names -
  • Tyre pressure sensors are called Tyretronics
  • Start Stop system is called Micro Hybrid
  • Reverse Sensors are called Intellipark
Imagine if they call this one "smart-entry-o-tronics".

Re: Updated Mahindra XUV5OO caught testing?

Up Date - New Headlights of XUV500 Might Have DRL

I was one of the first owners of XUV back in Nov 2011 and what an ownership it has been!! I have been among the Happy customers of Mahindra!! Now the news of New XUV excites me! All the updates sound great and I would love to have a Sunroof on My XUV too!! but most of all I like the newly designed headlights. They now come with Audi style DRL.. I Also own an Audi Q5, and the headlight that I saw has similar DRL to Audi. The image am attaching clearly shows DRL strip running in between the High Beam and the Low Beam. There is also XUV 500 branding on the headlight (top right corner) like the Skoda cars, Nice touch Mahindra!! Only the intensity of the LED remains to be checked . I guess this makes XUV look pricier than the more expensive Toyota Fortuner!!

So the question is will it fit the older XUV?
