+1 Sir. I would love to see a Auto Diesel in this model and then I'll happily replace my 2005 Wagnor with this.

Maruthi are you listening? It will have the first move advantage if they go with auto diesel and competitive pricing.

Don't be fooled by these automags. The car shown here is the suzuki vitara sold in international markets and is in the leagues of scross. Maruti vitara brezza is a totally different car, though it has some design elements taken from this.

Some more news on the YBA,

- to be called Vitara Brezza in India
- will come in the 90 PS, VGT configuration of the 1.3DDiS
- will have dual tone interiors - similar to Global Vitara?
- will be launched at the Auto expo 2016, including Pricing
- No AT/AMT at launch

I am overjoyed to learn that Maruti YBA crossover will have DDIS 200 diesel engine. It has the same wheelbase as that of international Suzuki vitara. Dimension wise it will be close to Baleno and being SUV even if the body weight would be close to around 1100 kg , the 90 PS power would give it very good power to weight ratio. The DDIS engine is unique and I have found it better than other diesel engines ranging from 1300 cc to 1500 cc and available with different cars. The spy pictures shows it different in look than the international Vitara.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Maruti next big launch the Compact UV to come with a 1.5-litre petrol automatic. Placed above Baleno but Below S Cross, Maruti is betting big on the Vitara Brezza.

The YBA is coming with a new-range of petrol engines, the diesel will be the 1.3-litre 90bhp as the S Cross! This gives ample scope for differentiating from the Baleno and justifying its price point.

Maruti Suzuki will be introducing the YBA, its new compact SUV , however it will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will churn about 105bhp of power and it will be made available with a five-speed manual and an automatic transmission as well.

The bigger Ertiga comes with a 1.4L petrol, while this sub-4m car will come with a 1.5L engine? Couldn't digest it.

At max, it could be the same 1.4 k series from Ertiga.

Or is it the new inhouse-developed 1.5L diesel they misunderstood as petrol?

Exactly. I haven't heard about any 1.5 litre petrol engine from Maruti Suzuki or Suzuki International engine lineup yet. So there are very rare chances of such a new introduction & that's too without localization.
Most probably it could be a 1.4 litre K14M engine paired to Automatic gearbox, as it is already doing duty in Ertiga AT & Ciaz AT Petrol.

As read across few articles across the internet, their 1.5 litre Diesel engine introduction is delayed to 2017, due to development issues related to its refinement.

Now, chances of again Diesel Automatic(conventional Automatic or CVT) are very rare except AMT as option & that's too has been testinh with 75PS DDiS190 not DDiS200 which is going to power this car.

Adding 1.0 litre Boosterjet Petrol option with 1.4 K14M Petrol & 1.3 litre DDiS200 will together make an interesting powertrain options lineup for this car & together with tough styling, this car can give serious competition to its rivals.

Considering the Vitara Brezza is going to be under 4m, I doubt if Maruti is going to offer anything above 1.2 petrol considering the increased taxation.

Guys, Suzuki does have a 1.5 Litre Petrol engine and is doing duty in European cars. Especially on UK based Swift, SX4. For more details please check the following link(s)

That is actually the full fledged vitara and not the compact suv.

Maruti YBA compact SUV ready for launch

Maruti’s compact SUV, the YBA, is in final stages of testing; Auto Expo 2016 launch expected.

The Maruti YBA compact SUV will be under four metres long and, the exterior styling will make it appear muscular. An older set of spy pics suggests that its styling will be heavily inspired by the Suzuki Vitara SUV sold internationally. It retains the tapering windowline, angular tail-lamps and the ‘open-mouthed’ lower air dam. The new SUV’s grill will get chrome treatment as seen on the S-Cross crossover. Overall, the YBA’s look is a good mix of sporty and rugged. The wheel arches don’t have excessive cladding, the windscreen is steeply raked back and, thanks to a floating C-pillar, the glasshouse gets a cockpit-like look.

This new SUV will be powered by Maruti’s existing range of petrol and diesel engines. This could well range from the 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol engines and the tried-and-tested Fiat-derived 1.3-litre diesel

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

From the above two pics, it appears it will be a good looking car, though the height appears to be a bit on lower side.

It does looks muscular, well built and being sub 4m not awkward too.

Appears to be a proper compact urban SUV from Maruti - only if they price it well.

re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Will it not eat into the shares of s-cross ? Being sub4m, and perhaps more entry level than s-cross it has to be priced cheaper than it. But then we have the Baleno on the other end of the price range. Agreed i am comparing Apples to Orranges, but Average Indian buyer who worries about kitna deti hai and kitne me milti hai, Will be confused with Maruti itself offering multiple choices

Suddenly Maruti is stepping up their game. I see Baleno, this SUV and S-cross focusing on the segment north of 6 lakhs which traditionally Maruti never got a firm foot.
