That was precisely my thinking as well when I looked at the side profile. But if you see the video of the launch or any still photos with Suzuki folks standing next to the car, you'll realize that it is larger than a Cooper. I like the mini-cooperish stance.

Ignis is of the Mini Crossover segment (New)rivaling Mahindra's KUV while Vitara Brezza is of the sub compact SUV taking on Ford's EcoSport

Ignis will slot in the Ritz's space in Maruti Suzuki's portfolio (and Ritz is rumored to exit/axed).

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Other than red-black one, overall vehicle looks pretty ordinary. Ecosport have a competition now, overall stance is good due to 25 mm extra width comparing to ecosport.

Are they both similar dimension and type of car? Also, will the Brezza come with A/T at any point? If it does I hope its not AMT.
Ignis will be much smaller and will be in WagonR kind of dimensions. Brezza will be in EcoSport kind of dimensions. Hope that clarifies.

Personally, I like what I see in the pictures. Car in Default single tone color looks good, but not get the wow that EcoSport generated. If they offer Dual tone as default on top variant, then it'll be a killer.

I'm not getting the hopes up. I think Maruti will price it in the 6.8 - 9.0 kind of price range for single tone color which is good, but will charge exorbitantly for all the customization which makes the car look cool.

Looks pretty flat. Steering is a sore. The rear leg room seams to be cramped in the image where the person is sitting. The plastics look to be ordinary and not very ecosportish. But its a maruti and will sell. The design is simple. It is not outstanding but its nowhere as sore as KUV.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

It is interesting to see how Maruti managed to plonk the car within 4m and going by the pics alone overall appearance doesn`t look like it is a sub 4m car. Overall package seems to be good, however if I have one grouse that will be the hideous looking roof antenna. Overall length of the antenna is too long IMHO and looks like it gives a competition to the antenna of the Kwid.
Anyways Kudos to Maruti for bringing out this car and if priced rightly this is going to be a another swift in the making.

Maruti today stated that Brezza is their answer to "Create in India". Read more on this...

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Absolute stunner of a design, especially that blue with white roof combo. Even the Suzuki grin at the front seems to bode well with the rest of the design. Just wish those wheels covered the wheel arches better but overall very impressed. Interiors look a bit cramped though, "Ecosportish" dimensions, perhaps? Budget notwithstanding, I don't see a reason for going for the Swift anymore. Classy act by Suzuki!

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

May I know the kerb weight of Vitara Brezza. Since it is wider (1790mm) than the international Vitara (1775 mm) I guess the front track and rear track would also be wider !

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

This one is a real stunner, all chances to be the next block buster from Maruti. Good that they've the 90PS version of engine, zero chance for any complaint now.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Smart move from MS not to release the pricing details, pretty damn sure that they are weighing up the public response to arrive at the final pricing (a little premium for the hype).
May be one of their people is reading this forum right now & thinking "Wow, I didn't expect such a positive feedback, may be I could increase the price by a little more than I initially wanted to".
This has happened before guys (a certain Creta comes to mind )

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Does this go on sale through regular Maruti dealerships or through NEXA?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza Compact SUV

Is that a hook on the rear of the front seat? If yes, kudos to Maruti to get to such depth in researching customer needs. Small things but so convenient for the customer.
