Different reviews seem to be differing on the handling department. Eagerly waiting for the team-bhp review to settle the matter decisively!

Re: Scoop - 2015 Hyundai Verna Facelift! Caught without camo on page 3

I quite like the new front end - it looks sharper, wider and different. The sides and rear remain almost the same (not necessarily a bad thing IMO), and the beefier rear bumper with integrated rear fog lamps is welcome! It's stupid of them to omit the LED DRLs, though.

Not much change to the interiors, although it takes a leaf out of the Vento's book by adding a legroom adjuster for the rear left passenger. The rear seat seems to have an improved base for more under thigh support and an improved armrest with cup holders. Sadly, there are still no rear A/C vents and the rear neck-restraints seem to be of the fixed type from the photos (from the adjustable ones earlier).

The driver now gets telescopic adjust for the steering, in addition to tilt. The music system looks like it has been upgraded, with 1GB of internal memory, and I presume phone book & call log access as well (it only had phone call answer, end/reject, mute & last number redial before).

The changes to the suspension and steering to improve its dynamics are very welcome, though still not in the league of its Euro rivals. Unfortunately, rear drum brakes have replaced the discs on the manual variants (do the automatic ones get rear discs?) but as a compensation, ABS is now standard across the range. I wish (at least) a driver airbag was standard as well! The best thing is that 6 airbags are now a standard feature on the SX variant, and Verna remains the only car in its segment to offer front, side & curtain airbags! (All the others have a maximum of only two, except the Sunny dCi XV Safety variant which gets four).

I hope the SX petrols and diesel manual are priced under the million rupee mark, ex-showroom. Hyundai will have to push the Verna hard using such unique features (like the 6 airbags) to ensure that it is able to attract customers over its newer rivals such as the City and Ciaz. I hope the Team-BHP review comes up soon!

P.S.: It would be nice of Hyundai to offer a "suspension upgrade package" with the new springs & dampers for pre-2014 Verna owners at a reasonable cost. Such a move would go a long way in building brand loyalty.

Oh My god. This is looking like F1 these days.
All cars should be made to specifications, front wing should be 4 in from the ground, it should not be higher than 20 in, not wider than 5 ft, Wing should have two slits, blah blah

New City, New Verna, New Ciaz all look the same. And the rest don't sell (Read Fiesta, Linea, Rapid)

From various pictures, it looks like they are no longer giving rear seat adjustable neck restraints! The 2014 model has it.

Re: Scoop - 2015 Hyundai Verna Facelift! Caught without camo on page 3

Autocar India have got ahold of the official Verna 4S brochure, ahead of it's launch on February 18th. The facelifted car will come with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as before, in their 1.4L & 1.6L guises. The AT variants of the Verna 4S will have 4-speed gearboxes, as before.

Quote:
As per ARAI-tested figures, the 1.4-litre diesel’s fuel economy is up 1.3kpl (to 24.8kpl) and the 1.6-litre’s has improved to 23.9kpl.

The 1.4-litre petrol and diesel engines will be offered only in the Base trim. In comparison, the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines will be offered in S, S (O) and SX trims. However, the 1.6-litre petrol automatic will be available only in S (O) trim while the 1.6-litre diesel automatic will be offered in the SX trim.

The Base trim comes equipped with ABS with EBD, a day and night rear view mirror, central locking and electrically adjustable wing mirrors with turn indicators. It even gets manual air-conditioning, front and rear power windows, tilt adjustable steering and a 2-DIN four speaker audio system with 1 GB memory. The instrumentation console gets a tachometer and digital clock.

In addition to the standard kit, the S trim gets a driver airbag, rear camera with display on ECM, rear parking sensors, height adjustable front seatbelts, projector headlamps with follow-me-home function and even automatic headlight control. That’s not all - it also gets climate control, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear defogger, front fog lamps, gear shift indicator, 15-inch alloys and the wing mirrors are electrically foldable.

Positioned above it, is the S (O) trim which additionally gets airbags for the driver and front passenger, 16-inch alloys with two-tone finish, smart key with push button start and a cooled glovebox.

Only the top SX trim comes equipped with side and curtain airbags, speed sensing auto door lock, leather upholstery, rain sensing wipers and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering.
