re: Next-generation Mahindra Bolero? NAMED: Mahindra TUV300! EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 6.90 lakhs

Brochure available in the website. Specification sheet from the Brochure below.

Next-generation Mahindra Bolero? NAMED: Mahindra TUV300! EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 6.90 lakhs-tuvspecs.jpg

Airbags present in T4+ variant but not in T6 variant. That's strange.

Don't understand the comparison in prices with the Ecosport, I mean, the Ecosport comes with a proper 4 cylinder block and has a peak torque advantage (coming around at 2000 RPM), whereas the TUV 3OO comes with three cylinder engine (which again has its origins from the Quanto).

I don't think the price would be any less if the TUV3OO had come with a similar 4 cylinder bock such as the Ecosport.

Coming back to the launch today, I seriously couldn't digest the kind of questions that were being put forth from the so called 'auto jounalists'!!

It was down right hilarious with none of them having any clue about what were asking!! I guess at one point, even Anand Mahindra himself felt the questions were really stupid and repetitive!

Looked like these guys ended up there for a free lunch and some freebies (if they had one!!) Shame on all jokers who posted such worthless questions!

Couple of points from the brochure :
The AMT doesnt come with the Micro-Hybrid technology.
The Manual variants have 84 BHP whereas the AMT comes with 81BHP.

They have some smashing accessories and this surely will be a customizer's delight

Fabulous pricing from M&M. The ex-showroom pricing has been updated on the site :

The people who pose questions actually ask on a one on one interaction. They never ask their questions in public.

These media persons want to get that extra info which they have talk about on their channel.

If they don't have any exclusive then whats the difference between them and others.

Hence the questions asked in public Q&A is done by not so professional people Or who don't have much to ask.

The real Q&A, is done in solo interview.

Good effort by M&M. if this car can add to the 10K sales of Bolero..they will be so happy. But i guess the only car that suffers because of this is Bolero itself
If you look at the white colour in 360 view and compare with the white one two pages back, which one would you believe?
The pictures I dont think is what it would really look like. They show views from camera at lesser height.

Looks much better, especially the changes on the squarish fog lamp.

T4 and T6 doesn't have airbags but T4+ and T6+ variants have airbags.

ABS is not available only in T4.

re: Next-generation Mahindra Bolero? NAMED: Mahindra TUV300! EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 6.90 lakhs

Autocar India has posted their review.

Excerpts from the verdict.

However, while we’re sure there will be plenty of takers for this tough, rugged look and feel at a relatively affordable price, it seems a bit of an oddity in this segment, where nimble dynamics, refinement and driving ease are also valued highly. In fact, it’s reflected in the slightly awkward proportions, which seem to be trying too hard. And finally, though Mahindra has made great strides in this area, fit and finish is still some way shy of global competition. So, while it’s not perfect, we will say the TUV300 is one of Mahindra’s best efforts yet, and if you think monocoque SUVs are not ‘real’ SUVs, or you want the Scorpio’s tough, rugged appeal in a smaller, more affordable package, this is the way to go.

the unknown here is the performance of the engine (specs look a bit underwhelming) and the ride and handling.
The weight seems excessive to me, per the GVW rating (or am I wrong).

The turning radius is indeed FIT for a tank - 5.35M.

How the poor palio was pilloried for having a 5.2 M turning radius in its time!

Completely agree with you. I even found it hard to understand why such waste of opportunity to ask something more meaningful!! They clearly lacked homework barring one or two

Bumper is looking very mature with its height reduced. Fog lamps look good too.
But I would stay away from playing with the grill area. Efficient cooling is of utmost importance.

2225kgs is the gross vehicle weight. I did not see the kerb weight mentioned. Any idea??
