As per IAB report Maruti will be launching S-Cross in the first week of August.

"Speaking to IndianAutosBlog at the recently concluded media drive of the Maruti S-Cross, Mr. R.S. Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki, confirmed the launch of the product for the first week of August this year."

Looks like there is a big bang launch every 2 weeks
8th July - Jazz
21st July - Creta
1st week August - S-Cross

"The S-Cross will be sold exclusively through Marutis new range of NEXA dealerships, which are slated for major cities to begin with. The NEXA dealership will sell only the S-Cross for now, though more products will be added later on."

That is because learning from past experiences and failures of their offerings in the premium end.

Quote from today's article in TOI:

Quote:
Maruti has been trying hard to gain a foothold in the premium end of the market, but with little success. Models such as the Kizashi sedan and Grand Vitara SUV , which were being imported here, failed miserably after being retailed through the company's current dealerships.

Not that I wanna dampen or dash your hopes, I would think that the Delta would be priced close to 10.49 or 10.99 Ex-Showroom.

What makes the case stronger is, the 2 pot (that too Home Made, the 1.6 they pay royalty) that they have launched is priced at 4.65 Ex-Showroom.

Another important factor that will play a part on the pricing is the launch price of Creta, the word is anyways out that looks wise S-Cross is a nowhere close to Creta, so they might look at selling the specs and NOT price it exorbitantly, had it been a head turner, there was no stopping Maruti ringing the cash counters and making a further dent into our pockets.

Again as we have stated, if the power delivery is spiky, you can bet your money on having fun in this grown HATCH.

Cheers.

Re: The Maruti S-Cross. (Details released: Page 38)

Today Nexa helpline confirmed that SCross would be available through their dealerships only and not normal ones. They further confirmed that Pre Bookings are open starting today and took down my details assuring that i would get a call back from RM. Its been 2.25 hrs and i am yet to get call, so far the communication from their side has been pretty ordinary.

Re: The Maruti S-Cross. (Details released: Page 38)

What will happen to the places where there are no Nexa dealerships? Will Maruti allow regular dealerships to handle S-Cross?

For people like me, who lives in Tier III cites, this is a bummer.

I just found out from a very senior person at RNS, Bangalore, that they are also accepting bookings for the S-Cross, starting today.

Apparently, the way it works is that most dealers will be able accept bookings for "NEXA exclusive" automobiles and route it to the nearest Nexa.

I also learnt that, at the moment, Bangalore has only one approved premium dealership.

Anyway, until they do not levy cancellation charges for pre-luanch bookings, I will be on my way to RNS this week.

This and other news/maybe official Maruti statements imply that Kizashi and Grand Vitara failed because the dealership was also selling say the Alto. Has SX4 been forgotten when it competed against the City. The truth is likely to be more different. Even Hyundai has learnt that they have a ceiling beyond which customers will not pay for their cars. At a certain price point for both Hyundai and Maruti, consumers will evaluate other perceived better brands, and as shown in sales figure, go for those cars. For that matter, even Toyota and Honda are aware of this. People who spend 30+ will also seriously consider the European cars (BMW, Merc, Audi) rather than say a Camry, etc.

Re: The Maruti S-Cross. (Details released: Page 38)

Nexa delearships are going to be launched across the country in another month ?

I dont see anything in Bangalore yet. So the question is, Will Maruti(rather suzuki) launch S-Cross in regular dealerships for the time being ? Kind of defeats the purpose of Nexa isnt it

For Ranchi members, Premsons Motor,Ranchi has got membership to NEXA programme. The other dealership Sudha Motors aren't part of the NEXA programme. Bookings have resumed and their new facility near Kadru Bypass Road will be inaugurated by this month end.

Service though will be handled by existing Maruti dealers and MASSes.

Regards,
Shashi

One more review of the S Cross,

Quote:
Leather wrapped steering wheel of S-Cross featuring controls for audio, cruise, mobile phone, and voice command. The instrument cluster gets two dials and a LCD screen. Data displayed on this screen includes average speed, distance to empty, average fuel efficiency, real time fuel efficiency, time, etc.

The SmartPlay system features 18 cm display screen. This screen offers hi-res display and is easy to operate. Navigation maps are pre-loaded via a memory stick, which is very accurate. You can also connect your phone and operate it via voice commands. The rear parking camera offers a good view, even at night.

Maruti S-Cross gets keyless entry, start stop button, door lock-unlock and ORVM controls. There is one problem though, when you unlock the car using the key, only the driver side door gets unlocked. Remaining doors have to be manually unlocked by pressing the unlock button on the driver side door.

Quote:
Maruti S-Cross seats are plush and offer enough comfort, be it shoulder, back or thigh. Headroom and legroom are also fantastic, in spite of having three passengers in the rear seats.

Pros

– Interior design
– Space
– Comfort
– Premium cabin quality
– Suspension setup
– Projector HID headlamps

Cons

– Turbo lag at low rpm
– Steering response
– Exteriors
