You are correct. A few small changes like this will make a big difference. But, unless, Tata has really woken up to reallity. None of this is happening.

Jayem Automotive in coimbatore does lot of validation testing on TAta vehicles. It is mostly validation of one off changes, so this test vehicle is seen often in coimbatore/ooty stretch even before and after the Storme laun ch.

Why is the rear passenger windows and the quarter glass covered in camo in both Storme and Scorpio?

Is there any specific thing they want to hide in the inside of the vehicles?

My wish list for the new Storme:

1) Airbags in lower variants
2) 4X4 options in lower variants ( after all, TML is positioning it as the real SUV)
3) Seat height adjustment in lower variants ( I am 5'6)
4) Better Ice
5) A six speed gearbox and a more powerful engine.
6) A sensible price that does not take it ou of my reach.

A 2-DIN ICE with Bluetooth and touchscreen navigation is a minimum requirement for Storme now, especially with Tata deciding to offer it in Bolt and Zest that are half the price of Storme.

New dashboard design needs only changes to the central console. That wouldn't need too much investment - just re-arranging the hazard light switch and probably reducing the height of the storage area in front of gear lever should help accommodate a 2-DIN.

The credible news i have is that a new variant of Storme is definitely coming. Harman kardon music system is sure to come with steering mounted controls. An updated engine is also true. The possible launch time could be August.

The below is my wishlist for the refreshed STORME

a) 2 DIN ICE
b) Given all black interior as an option for all of the variants. Beige is okay for hatchbacks but 'ALL' beige in a 2 ton monster is out of place. If the EURO market can get all black then why not the Indian market
c) Forward facing 3rd row of seat
d) Get rid of the fake wood interior and give that silver/aluminium panel please
e) Of course get that 150PS engine

And lastly no price rise please

I am a little confused here, if at all THIS particular mule was fitted with 2DIN console and Front facing 3rd row seat, what was it doing testing the slopes of Ootacamund? Such nature of hill - terrain would only be charted, IMHO, by the Tata Motors' CRE team for some drivetrain - related testing.

Unless, of course they wanted to measure the 'nauseating' factor of 3rd row seat

Also, did you'll notice? even though it looks like a steep upward slope, there isn't any trademark black puff from the twin tail pipes! (Could it be a petrol then??) Just imagine...

I have been waiting with bated breath for this upgrade and have delayed my purchase for several months now. I hope they bring it out soon!

I would love the engine and gearbox upgrade being spoken about in the thread.
But even more than a 6-speed, i would love an auto along with the 4x4 option.
The auto would be a great for people who drive it regularly in peak hour city traffic, while they would love the 4x4 whilst going off the beaten track once every 1-2 months.

They are saying the AMT will bring in an "automatic" revolution in India. I would love to see a steady niche building up for 4x4's at all price-points!
