Nice concept but looks more like a car with jacked up suspensions rather than a SUV.

Exactly what I thought. Would have been good if the front end was not so edgy and rather a bit boxy - that would have given a bit more ruggedness to the front end

Looks like the images are rendered on top of a production Local Motors Rally Fighter. Lines are very similar to the Rally Fighter!

Very nice. Evil looking SUV concept.
Wonder when it will make production!

My thoughts exactly! photoshop + rally fighter = Mahindra KOMODO

Reminds me of a Standard (Rover) 2000 with a jacked up suspension.
The front is a cross between a DC and an XUV.

I wonder why Mahindra cannot keep the look clean and simple instead of all those dust-attracting meshes! :)

Looks like one of those cases from death race, very hot looking car.
I am not sure if it will hit the markets

I'm no expert in automobile design by any means but IMO, I don't see any hint of Mahindra's design language in that concept. Even if it looks impressive and the designer has put in his sincere efforts, the side profile has an uncanny resemblance to the Jeep Jeepster concept.

The design and the concept looks fine. But the question is, has this concept been approved by Mahindra? I thought it is a Thesis project of a student, Makrand Patil at IED, Italy for his final year of transportation design sponsored by Mahindra.

BTW, we do have a market for a Premium 4x4 SUV with a good blend of a Luxury SUV and an off-road vehicle,in the 12- 18 Lac segment, IMHO.

Someone had a lot of time to get this done. Was it really difficult to spot that these were photoshop-d?

Why does that remind me of Local Motors SUV ?

you had to be a killjoy, didn't ya! :D

loved the illusion though.

Good effort by Makrand Patil.

But i feel this design is heavily influenced from Rally Fighter by Local Motors.

IMO This design is his representation of MM design and not of actual Mahindra.

Spot on ! At first glance it does not look like part of Mahindra stable.

Regarding the naming "Komodo", it may be inspired by Komodo dragon, but it resonates very strongly to "commode" for an indian mind :D

Fantastic!!! The design shouts Rally/off-road. Rather than getting it as a compact SUV(if atall mahindra is even remotely planning to) I guess bringing it in as a niche product ala Thar would make much more sense. :I Rule:

I mean that design would never go down with the conservative mass market we have here. Heck, even the XUV was/is termed to be over-done though I personally love the design apart from that mHawk.

A 4WD AT with high ground clearance coupled with rugged build and this babe will be well accepted by the off-road enthusiasts is what I feel. @Mahindra : If you may please:

Hahahahaha ! :uncontrol 'Commode' , something M&M needs to dump all their concepts and designs in , IF they don't make it to production . The styling of this car is heavily influenced by a Komodo Dragon ... and the XUV was inspired by a cheetah ... i sure hope the next car doesn't bear any resemblance to a Baboon !lol: This one is definitely overdone in the details , but the overall shape and stance of the vehicle is kind of refreshing .
