Took the delivery of the Celerio AMT in Blazing Red color yesterday.

@mug:mush: The world is pretty small. The dealer (on Bannerghatta Road) had shown me the exact car parked on their roof that was delivered to you. I even have the photos of it on my phone and when I looked at it, I was amazed it was indeed the same car. Both the blue and the red are very appealing. Congrats on getting the car so soon.

Please report the mileage (or as we say "Kitna deti hain?") as well a few pics of the interior.

The interiors look much much better on the international version.

Hearty congrats! Looking forward for the detailed log.

Please remove your dealership's logo from the tailgate below Suzuki's logo. Doesn't look good IMO.

Other than the dual tone interiors on the Indian version (presumably made to make the cabin appear brighter and less claustrophobic) I don't think it really looks any bad or different.

Yes, the quality of interiors definitely looks the same. Its that, black makes it look so sporty. Celerio has a airy cabin, so black wouldn't make it that claustrophobic.
Just an opinion.

Congratulations on your bright new Celerio. The red looks blazing in the pictures.

Thanks beermerfan! The avg. fuel gauge reading hovers around 14.5. This is strictly in bumper to bumper traffic and with 100% AC. I'd say, for a new car, these numbers look awesome. My guess (and hope) is the avg. will reach 17+ post 2nd service.

Re: Maruti to offer Automated Manual ("EZdrive") in small cars*EDIT: Celerio AMT laun

Heard earlier that Suzuki is developing a sedan based on this car. I was wondering how hideous-looking it would be! Basing a sedan on a tall-boy hatch will be a disaster. Hyundai Xcent also has all the ugliness of such a sedan, IMO.

Hope Maruti won't do such a blunder in terms of design, though it will sell well.

That's some good numbers. I guess this is because of the proper use of clutch and gear change by the AMT system.

Re: Maruti to offer Automated Manual ("EZdrive") in small cars*EDIT: Celerio AMT laun

It is such a good news that Maruti has given a head start in the Indian mass car market for AMT. Although A-sar did exist but low mileage factor put off a number of buyers, myself including.
The wider experience of 'aam aadmi' would translate better to the sales as compared to the informed opinions of Team-Bhpians or other such automotive heads.
I also feel it would lead to more elderly and lady drivers on the road since they have been cautious and restricted themselves to Activas for errands.
More importantly, the market would mature since penetration would ensure other manufacturers (TATA already is in the fray) would offer more choices.
Better sales for auto manufacturers and more user convenience for the buyers!

Re: Maruti to offer Automated Manual ("EZdrive") in small cars*EDIT: Celerio AMT laun

I have one stupid question.... if Maruti Suzuki claims over 20K bookings for the Celerio, why are current month sales (as per TBHP's sales thread) not even 40% of the number at 7.3K?

Is the company trying to create artificial scarcity of the car in market to create an impression of huge demand, or wants older cheaper cars to sell well?

Hopefully March number should bring up the correct/ true picture, where I am sure it will overtake the Wagon-R, going by the demand.

I guess this is due to the production constraint of AMT models, as the AMT unit is being imported. Maruti's initial expectation was 5k units of Celerio per month with 25-30% of them (= 1500) being AMTs.

many of us have been asking this question for so many weeks, but sadly no answer from any of our mods.

Also the Datsun Go has been reviewed by other sites like Motorbeam, but not yet reviewed by us.

The new Santa Fe and Linea facelift reviews were so quick and prompt to appear in this forum, which makes me wonder whether nowadays our forum is more focused towards C & D segment + cars. Is there a small amount of neglect creeping in towards entry level segments?

Sales figures indicate the amount of cars despatched to dealers from the factory. It doesnt indicate how many were booked or sold. Not sure how many cars can be churned out by the factory in the future.
