Heavy design cues taken from the previous gen Civic of the US markets and the to-be-launched Toyota Corolla!

The front looks sharper than its outgoing version and the rear with the protruding tail lights are a mix of the Elantra and previous gen BMW.

In-dash DVD is segment first.

Looks good IMO. Will sell if priced sensibly!

EDIT: they have opened the car and are letting pics of interiors to be taken (live streaming), hope to get some interior pics soon.

A question:- won't increased wheel base mean - more underbelly scraping despite increased GC?

Good try Honda, trying to mix City & Civic. A BIG thumbs up for the features. BUT, i would not be tempted to trade my civic for the 1.5 NA petrol on this. The diesel, could be a different matter if priced correctly and with refined NVH ofcourse (should be better than the DDIS atleast).

Ok finally the curtains are up , from what I understand from the presentation the length and width of the car remain the same except for the hight increased by 10mm. There is increased shoulder space by a few mm and the wheel base as well.
Overall no major dimension changes as expected and anticipated by many of us.However the center console looks to have got a complete new feel hopefully will add to the premium feel.There are noticeable changes on the front grill and the rear of the car.
The model is not the fluidic version doing rounds since a few days and to me it looked more or less like the outgoing 3rd gen in shape and size with some changes on the front grill and rear tail lamps also the antenna is now the shark finn to give it a feel of a next segment.
Lets wait for more information and details to flow in.

Its a new wine in similarly different bottle. I doesnt look as sleek as the blue one in the internet picture. The tail end looksvery similar to outgoing city. front end is a rehash. they have removed the old grill and added a new one. Profile looks the same. Hope they dont price it at 14L

I would say its a good thing they didnt tamper with the exterior much. The looks are still quite fresh and futuristic. I am sure the car in flesh would look much sharper and better than the current one. Honda has taken care of the things that it lacked earlier. Equipment level and Interiors. Mighty pleased with it. No projectors though which is disappointing.

Absolutely no correlation between the revolutionary design sketches and the actual car which looks like a better revamp of the current City. This is the first time in the City's life cycle that they haven't come up with a totally new design.

I am not disappointed with regards to the looks of the car - They did tell you it would be 'Evolutionary' and not 'Revolutionary' ! And so it looks very acceptable in that regard. And the Interiors have revolutionized, so have the equipment levels! I think this one's got more features than the Civic ever did.

But what really disappoints - The bloody skinny tyres have made it to this gen City aswell! Someone near the car, please confirm tyre specs. From the pics, it sure doesnt look bigger than a 185 section tyre! :(

This looks like a big disappointment from first few exterior shots.

But hey! If Honda prices it well (+1L of Fluidic Verna), they can put the sales charts on a fire (with a diesel mill and Honda brand)

Shouldnt the 10mm height increase result in increase in GC as well?

Basically they have addressed what wasnt great in the outgoing model.
- increased GC (I am assuming this)
- better interiors
- lot more features (eat that verna)
- projector headlamps
- diesel motor

Makes a lot of sense actually, if you think about it!!

This is the reason why we never spotted test mules in India or anywhere else. Basically its the same car with minor mechanical changes and revamped interiors. Same old wine in new bottle. They were already doing decent numbers with the outgoing city hence didnt spend majorly on changing its looks. Heck they didnt even give it bigger wheels! Interiors and Diesel engine which was major grouse for the outgoing city have been adressed and how! Feature list is inline with current times and the Diesel Engine promoted as the most efficient in its class. Somehow this car didnt touch any chord in my heart with its looks.

Sadly there was no mention of airbags, so that mean's 2 airbag will be all that we get. Honda car do not have the thickest hide some additional side airbags would have been welcome.

Fairly disappointing launch this. I was expecting a new car, this one looks like one of the model refreshes they do halfway through the model's life (like the New Honda City to the Honda City ZX).

However, the interiors seem to be good, and it looks like Honda hasn't been stingy with the toys. Hope the interiors are good, otherwise I'm sure the tuners will come out with a kit to convert the previous model to this one!
