re: On the Tata Bolt Hatchback

Looking at this particular thread activity has got me thinking-
"Is this the product that Tata had been waiting for?".

Price it well and this could really be the illusive "Nano" they had been craving for.
Also, once launched, they could look at some facelift infusion into the "beautiful" Manza, spice it up a bit and focus in increasing the sales.

They have a winner in the sidelines in Zest and Bot.
Just need the impetus to capitalize!!

That was announced for the manual version. I am not sure if AMT has been announced for the petrol.

The drive mode feature was announced for the manual on the day it was unveiled

Came across this on another forum, thought of sharing here as well.

@ http://revotron.tatamotors.com/ Revotron game is there which is nicely integrated in website.

One observation though, car in the game which is ZEST, handles lot like typical Tata car

re: On the Tata Bolt Hatchback

The website has a section where one can hear the sound made by the Revotron. It sounds exactly like the Xeta's 1.2 petrol motor (on which it is based) at low rpms. When revved, the turbo "whoosh" can also be heard distinctly.

I hope they have worked on the overall noise levels, which can be ascertained only after driving the car. The Xeta's motor gets raucous and very loud at high rpms, which needs to be brought down in the Revotron.

The three different engine maps (which can be chosen by the driver) are very welcome!

Edit: The Revotron website now shows the power to be 90PS @ 5000rpm!

re: On the Tata Bolt Hatchback

The narrator mentions that the 'Revotron' is India's first 1.2L petrol engine with a turbocharger(~14 Seconds into the narration),is this true?
Does the VW Polo GT-Tsi not have a 1.2Turbo-petrol?
Or am I missing the context?
And the engine sounds loud!(Not the enthusiast kind of loud)
Hope they adequately sound-proof it(the package) before they put it on sale.
Edit:I hope TATA does a better advertising job on this than on the Nano.(Something iconic like the Safari ads )

Emphasis on INDIA's first turbo engine... Polo 1.2 TSi is an IMPORTED engine.. not Indian made.

Read it in the wrong context,I guess.
Thanks.

At the point of it being India's first 1.2L Turbo Petrol,is it not a weird marketing point?
How many car buyers would sign on the dotted line based on this point?
It feels like TATA has run out of good things(Or standoutish things) to say about the engine!
The maps are a great addition, though.(Inspiration from the Honda stable?)
They should focus more on stuff like the real estate they offer, for the price.
I don't think that there would be disagreements here,if I said that none of TATA's cars offer low passenger space.(In their respective classes)

As Indians we are used to the fact that most equipment / gadgets made abroad are better than those made in India... Tata / Mahindra have ambitions to reverse that. So no harm emphasizing this.. our design.. our manufacturing.. our people.. our car.

ISRO has succeeded.. I dont see why Tata cannot.

re: On the Tata Bolt Hatchback

How the Max power has increased from 84PS to 90PS now, for 1.2T Revotron. I suspect, they have mentioned the output of QJD engine, instead of Revotron.
