It definitely looks like part of the Q501/Q502 family. Look at the shape of that wheel arch. Also, look at the rear quarter area of the rear door window. It matches up quite well with the spyshots. This could definitely be the longer 7-seater variant. And the alloy wheels of the concept that was teased by Pratap Bose doesn't look too outlandish for a production vehicle. Could the design of this car really be that bold even in the production guise?

I have a sneaky suspicion the 5 seater will have a coupe profile......a la X6!

If so will be a risky bet by Tata, not sure how it will go down with the Mango Man looking for a 15 lac SUV.

Well..Tata has really got the attention of us bhpians. I'm sure many are eager to see this duo in flesh asap. The pics seem to hint that the design is gonna be something special. I liked how unique the Nexon looked although it had more of a hatchbackish vibe to it. If Tata can manage to instill some amount of coupe-ish roofline a la the X6 (I'm a sucker for the X6 ), I would have no problem queing up in front of their showroom. Of course there should be the performance to back it up and maybe awd too. Asking for too much? Come on Tata, give us something special

Performance is already known. It's the Fiat 2.0L engine in 140 and 170 BHP guise! The same that's on the Jeep Compass.

Yeah..about that. I get it that a 7 seater version needs more power, but wouldnt it be nice to have a budget Sports Activity Coupe with pretty impressive bhp figures and AWD ? It's not that 140 bhp isnt adequate. I dont wanna feel envious on seeing the 170 bhp one. That's all

All these are just speculations for now and we might wanna wait up till the production models are revealed. But I cant contain my excitement on this one.

If this is the case, then I think I may not like the new design - at least of the 7-seater. Will wait for the designs to be unveiled, hoping that the 5-seater may look more proportionate - or shift my waiting to 2019, for a possible Sumo replacement.

This looks like a beefed up Hexa having more SUVish stance. Going by this sketch this design itself can compete with Fortuner and Endeavour leaving the other things apart.
170 bhp on something like this with good 4x4 setup and driving modes like Hexa will be more than enough for Tata to shake the competition.

It looks like the teasers are for the 5 seater and the mule photos from Rush Lane are for the 7 seater. The mule photos show a Discovery Sport like profile while the teasers seem more evoquish in their profile especially in the rear styling. Must be of similar proportions too.

Hope using the JLR'ish designs for these 2 SUVs don't affect JLR as what Nano did to Tata - tarnish the image and ultimately result in dwindling sales of all other models. Good luck, Tata.

@silverfire, thanks for sharing these pics. If the 7-seater is going to look like this, then my earlier points about the cars not being same / close match to the JLR models is correct.

And for me- I am out of here ! :( The model shown here lacks distinctiveness - it's too rounded and soft.

Something tells they might go overboard with corners and sharp lines. But then the rendering by Autocar makes it look very dull. Or is it that the person who rendered it did as the panels as plain as possible ?

Really, cant they just make it as close to Land Rovers with different grills ? please.
