Hi GTO, Can you provide the break up of Indica / Vista and specifically by trim variants for the Vista? TIA.

It's all down to dismal marketing and product placement strategy of Tata Motors which are not limited to:

1. TML decided to sell venture from both Passenger division as well as commercial division. This acted as a major turn-off in terms of customer experience who ended up being confused. Further, dealers too were left confused and hence focus on was diverted.

2. Venture was launched only in BSIII avatar effectively negating any sales from 14(?) biggest markets in India who can only sell BSIV vehicles. This in my opinion hurt venture sales the most.

3. It is manufactured at Commercial division plant and the quality was hence severely compromised from passenger car outlook.

4. EECO is extensively used in Delhi and other metros as CNG option which makes the vehicle both cheap to own and maintain.

This segment rarely goes by the looks as Venture does look better than EECO, at least in my humble opinion.

Once again, when compared with Omni/EECO(73bhp/101Nm), Venture (71PS/135Nm) has more than adequate power/torque to suffice the requirements of the segment. In fact, a venture is far better than Omni/Eeco when it comes to space and practicality, it being a proper 7+ seater vehicle.

A safari engine (2.2L/140 BHP)would be an overkill for a van and would also shoot up the price massively. Also, A van requires compact engine bay that can be neatly stowed under the passenger compartment whereas safari engine is humongous.
