Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

So the facelift is finally here. Nothing to make us existing G30 owners feel too bad. Other than lights and few minor updates on the interiors and electronics, you can barely tell them apart. Also reassuring is the fact that engine performance for the 530D remains exactly the same. Here's the brochure.

Did you make that purchase? I am trying to find a 530D too. Talked to few dealers today, nobody wants to budge below 53L. That too for a 2018 make. Was given absurd reason by these dealers. Some said used cars are about emotions, so you can't apply standard depreciation rates. Another said the new one is expensive so we can't sell for less :O

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Enquired about 530D availability and discounts in Chennai. Being a recent facelift the only offer is around 1.6 lakhs which brings on road to 87 lakhs. This is what they can offer over phone. If anyone is serious and if they take a test drive/ sit with cheque book it might come down a bit more. I was checking this for a family friend. If anyone has any pointers on the maximum discount we can get at this time please share.

The experience with shop.bmw.in is good. We can find out if the preferred colour is available.

Dev, is the BMW stock system really up-to-date? Have heard otherwise earlier but unsure if they have fixed it now to show actual availability.

The two models (trim+ exact color) i checked were confirmed as available by the SA on his laptop while on phone. He took a min, said he is checking the inventory, and then confirmed. So i am SURE there's an inventory portal which is updated..... but i am NOT SURE which portal he was checking !

Initially even I had thought that it’s not up-to-date, because even after booking a car, the particular car which I had booked was still visible on the site. But a week before my dealer told me the car was billed to them, the car had been taken down from the inventory site.

Hi, could you please explain to me how this system works? I was under the impression inventories were specific to dealers. Are the models listed on the website available to all dealerships?

From the consumer side i think it works like this.

1. Go to shop.bmw.in, register and then login.
2. Go to NEW CARS.
3. Filter the model you like (ex: 5 series)
4. Select the Trim/Colour combo you like and click EXPLORE. (530D pytonic blue)
5. It will display how many cars in the selected combo is available in stock. (4 pytonic blue 530Ds available today)
6. Select the dealer and add the car to your garage. You can select any dealer either chennai or mumbai.
7. What happens after this is mystery. Assume you/someone buys the car will it be taken off the list? How fast?

Now you can see there are 4 pytonic blue color cars available. They should have added a filter for TRIM here.

i can select any dealer in india and book it be it chennai
The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh-screen-shot-20210819-10.12.53-am.png
or other state
The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh-screen-shot-20210819-10.13.10-am.png
And you can add the car to your GARAGE for quick viewing later.

Questions on everyone's mind
1) There are 4 pytonic blue 530Ds today. Does that mean only 4 such cars can be bought all over india at this moment?
2) If someone buys 1 car will the count reduce from 4 to 3? and when? Immediately or after few days?
3) Why am i doing all this? Is it like AMAZON CART? Will i get notified if the car i added in my garage is sold out? or if there is a price change? Is it an easier way to get in touch with the sales team ?
4) Does BMW guage the interest level based on what we do here? What is in it for them? Or is it just a price model checker / test drive form?
5) Is this the same portal that dealers are using for their allotment/inventory etc?

Sorry hrk997 i added more confusion than clarity .

Bingo. Got it everybody.
https://shop.bmw.in = pan india stock portal
https://shop.bmw.in/#/stock-locator?dealers=30802 - chennai dealer
https://shop.bmw.in/#/stock-locator?dealers=30949 - mumbai dealer

Chennai dealer has 2 Pytonic blue 530D and that mumbai dealer has 1.

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Hi, hope everyone is well, my 530i G30's 50,000km service is due now 4th year (3.5 years now), has anyone gotten it done? If yes, what did they charge and what to expect, in terms of cost and serviceable? Experts having experience are also welcome to pitch in, The car still drives wonderfully, only the A/c a bit low, but I have noticed it as a pattern, on the onset of summers after 4-5 months of minimal to no AC usage, it requires a new filter and gets back up.
thank you

It will be based on the condition. If you do not have BSI pack, ask the dealership to fill it with One-litre pack of oil instead of the usual they fill from bigger barrels.

Regarding AC, check if by any chance, the setting for hot/ cold is set towards the red portion.

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Folks, hope 2023 has been of to a great start, Quick Update
60,000km up, 4.5 years,

Been a wonderful experience thus far, only one unexpected fault was a coolant leak at 60,000km, that too on the day it was due for service, BMW took 50% care and was returned in a day with the service done as well. Though it was drivable, and message was in "yellow", I requested for a flat bed, which came promptly.

Just a couple of candid pictures I took over the last two days, when it was literally begging to being clicked,

Have shared a more detailed experience of the service here:-
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5489400 (BMW 530i Review (G30) : 2 years & 30,000 km)

Happy to answer any other queries, I believe this might be the most run G30 30i on this forum.
Happy Driving everyone

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

@np23, Your thread helped me a lot in picking my 530i M-Sport, specially the deciding factor was your Shimla trip, I was worried about GC & if this car can go to Shimla easily, I am happy with it, I have no plans to take it to Leh-Ladakh.

I picked up Oct 19 model with iDrive 7 from secondary market few weeks ago after reading about your experience & so far I am happy with my car. However, I am facing an issue with my display key, it only turns up when its plugged in so can't use it, I believe it must be having dead battery but BMW is saying, whole key has to be replaced.

Is there any way we can get the battery checked from somewhere else?

Same thing happened to my 2017 G30 530i before I sold it last year. Luckily, my car was under extended warranty. At first BMW claimed it was due to accidental misuse of the key, such as dropping it There were no external signs of damage and so I refused to budge. After sending many mails to BMW India, they finally offered to cover 70% of the cost of a new key, but I insisted they replace or repair the key at their cost - as I had purchased expensive extended warranty. They finally relented and replaced the key at their cost.

Unfortunately, mine is not under warranty, so i have to bear the cost. Problem looks very simple and i feel it can be easily fixed by replacing battery but its BMW, nothing is as simple as it looks.
If i can import the battey, i can try my luck once.
