Looks like that one is the base model.

Black door handles & side view mirrors.

Also missing are the projector headlamps.

It will be interesting to see if the pricing is as aggressive as the cost cutting effort.

The Thailand versions sport AT across all variants.
How many AT variants will the Indian version get?

The engine options of 2.2L and 3.2L seems to be very promising.
But, will Ford bring in both the engine options to India or will they bring in the 3.2L only and retain the current 2.5L for the lower end? States of tune?

Regards,

Sharad

Posting few pictures of the instrument cluster and screen which wasnt clear in the other set. This looks really good and hope it will make to the indian version as well although I dont fancy the digital fuel gauge.

Most important thing to me in Endeavour is, are the front seats raised now? The present Endeavour has its front seats on the floor. You are seated at almost the same height as Wagon R. What good is all that size when you do not have a grand view from behind the wheel, like you do in Storme (best) and even Scorpio?

The front seats in the current Endeavour are NOT the same height as the Wagon R . I own an Endeavour and in spite of being 6' 2", i have to climb into the front seats and i get a commanding view of the road ahead. Please double check this personally.

Yes, you are right. Not as low as Wagon R. What I meant was closer to that. No where as high as it is in Storme (highest). Forget Storme, in Scorpio and Fortuner, you are seated quite high. The stuff you referred to as climbing aboard is because floor is high placed in Endy. But relative to floor, front seats are very low. But again, 2nd row seats are higher.

I am sorry if I hurt you but I expect a car of this size to have high seating to give a commanding view out front. You can park your Endy next to the above-said SUVs and compare the head-rest heights (with all backs at same angle, of course). Now, this may sound very trivial to most, I value this as single most endearing feature in an SUV. Every time I drive a friend's Storme, I just marvel at the 2nd floor driving seat and the commanding view. I , for one, would not have an SUV in any other way.

MAS, please see for yourself the front and rear seat height difference. Front is almost on the floor.

But then, not everyone likes to drive sitting on a tall seat. I much prefer to sit as close to the floor of the car, keeping my legs almost straight and steering to be as low and parallel to the drivers chest as possible. Gives a sense of being 'in the car' rather than on it.

And then there is seat height adjust for anyone wishing to sit high. Its available even on B segment hatchbacks now, Don't see a reason why it should go missing in the new generation Endeavour.

re: The next-generation Ford Endeavour. EDIT: Now spotted testing in India

A quick review from Bangkok Motor show. Not an english version though. Looks like a good package although the third row seats are cramped and best suited for children. But the touch screen, rear AC vents with controls, individual vents on the top, automatic folding of third row (flat floor) looks sweet. Will surely miss the push button start/stop.

Had a word with one of the Sr. Regional manager at a bangalore dealership. Per him, India launch is scheduled for September 2015. Though he didn't have any clue about the pricing.

MAS the comparison is flawed in that the comparison is between 1st generation Fortuner with 2nd generation Endeavour and All New Trailblazer. Fair comparison will be when 2nd Generation Fortuner & the rest. Anyway it's not far. May be in another couple of months Toyota will unveil the all new 2nd generation Fortuner. Come what may the competition is always good for us consumers. The new endeavour (everest elsewhere) is a fantastic product & so is Chevy Trailblazer.

I am not able to find any English language review of all new endeavour, can somebody help.
