Looking at the proximity button on the door handle that is usually offered along with a start stop button on the inside, it seems the car will offer the open, start and drive away without the need to take the key out of the pocket feature.

The Real Ciaz
True. It stays close to the Alivio concept. However 'accessories shown in advertisements are never part of the standard package'. I hope those alloys make it though!

Looks big for sure!

Since keyless entry is confirmed, I hope they have ditched the standard keyfob seen in other Maruti cars for the upmarket foldable ones.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Looking at the side profile (1st image in the photoshoot image set), could not help noticing that the waistline (hope i got the term right) is a tad too high similar to the Manza. I always thought Manza could have looked more proportionate if they had got the waistline lower and now the Ciaz looks to go the similar route.

Do not get me wrong, Ciaz is definitely a looker, unlike the Manza which looked disproportionate. But a slightly lower waistline would have probably made it look a bit more "sporty".

Suzuki doesn't offer foldable keyfobs for their cars. Not for the models so far at least.

Expect something along these lines.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Compared to the pictures of the car at the factory, these images are more suggestive of the actual size of the car. Looks big enough for the segment, but still I don't feel the engine will do justice but sure we will get a good mileage.
I am inclined to own this car, hope it does not disappoint its target population. I assume it will be placed a little above the Nissan Sunny but definitely lesser than the Verna and City.
It looks like the tall boy type similar to the SX4, than the sporty verna or the city seating.
The car is a plain Jane IMHO. Not a head turner or a pride machine.
I got lots of hopes on this car. Let them launch as early and let the car speak for itself. Enough teasing game.

Mystery of CIAZ to be unveiled on September 3rd. Booking amount speculated to be 21k INR. Launch date September 25th.

The below picture is the ZXi variant of the Maruti Ciaz which comes equipped with the K14 petrol engine currently powering Ertiga and will make Ciaz one of the most fuel efficient cars in its segment. This image shows the multi-spoke alloy wheel design of Ciaz with clarity and it shows how impressive stance these 16 inch wheels give to this car.

Another golden opportunity missed to be the first-mover in the segment w.r.t AT box for the diesel heart.

Happy that the petrol at least stands a chance to get the AT box sooner or later.

Seems in first week of September, if it turns out to be 5th, then the pic they realeased could be a cue to the release date - coinciding with the Movie release!

Someone mentioned in the forum that these gaadiwaadi guys must get a telephoto lens and that seems to have happened.

Anyways the grey and white look fantastic to me. Bakers chocolate does look good but I think the alloys will do justice to the colours. Else its difficult to really get an idea with those black rims. Time for Maruti Suzuki to have raised compounds or closed yards. Can the GW guys even zoom into meeting halls and capture price lists?

Waiting to see how they look live. The cabin seems big compared to the hood area and gives that dis-proportionate look to me.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Have not been following this thread very regularly, but are alloy wheels not standard across all variants? If not, they need to take a leaf from Tata Motors which launched Zest with alloy wheels across the board.

The CIAZ is indeed a beautiful looking car, but the steel wheels could just take away the premium feeling that it is trying to build.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

To encash on the festive season, Honda City delayed deliveries and learning from the past Maruti Suzuki builds up stock of 6000+ Ciaz's prior to launch.

This shows the confidence that Maruti has on Ciaz.

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Today's edition of a leading Gujarati Daily "Gujarat Samachar" had half page ad for Ciaz, mentioning "coming soon". Launch could not be very far! A rear 3 quarter view of Ciaz was provided.

Also, I observed that one image in this thread depicts Ciaz being driven at night. The low beam was on, and it was reflector beam, and not projector. It indicates that Ciaz has Low beam which is normal reflector light set up, and high beam which is projector. This is a nice set up IMO. Less glare for oncoming drivers in city as the low beam is not projector. And for highway drives, Projector is an added boon. One can only hope that Indian drivers need not switch on high beam in city driving!

Projector set up for low beam IMO is not as important as having projector in high beam.
