Ciaz was seen testing in India, the fianl round of test in Japan was concluded and now is ready to be launched in India anytime.

These prototypes were sent to Japan in June, procuction run in swing and can expect them to hit Indian dealerships by September.

As the prices of Ertiga VXi is around 6.5L ex-Delhi, we can expect the CIAZ VXi to be priced around the same level. Though Ertiga comes with extra seating options, CIAZ will compensate it with more features. (Assumption: Ciaz will carry the same engine options as that of Ertiga.)

This way, Maruti can position the S-Cross (with bigger engine options) in a higher segment than Ciaz.

ACI's take on Ciaz,

The Ciaz will be powered by a mixture of engines, some new, others updated. The mainstay of the range will continue to be Fiat's 90bhp 1.3 Multijet engine. Known as the DDIS in Maruti terminology, the engine will be tuned to improve the delay in acceleration experience at low speed due to the turbo. Maruti will also import a larger 1.6 diesel from Fiat for some of its other models sold in India like the S-cross. The Ciaz could, as a result, also get this larger and more powerful 118bhp engine which, like the 1.3, is also known to have a nice spike in power.
The Ciaz is also likely to get a more powerful 100-plus-bhp version of Suzuki's K14 petrol engine. This engine is assembled here and, as a result, is more affordable than the 1.6 that currently powers the SX4

It's Ciaz's turn now after the Mobilio ad! Why do they keep showing just the cat? I love cats but when I expect to see a car, I would not want to see a 2 min. video of just a cat face. Not a good way to grab the attention of the crowd as it kinda irritates while at it.

The cat is better than the bile Hyundai is torturing us with to promote the i20. All ads these days seem to involve highlighting qualities and abilities that neither the cars nor their owners possess. A Ronin like car chase in a bouncy hatch and the bullet-dodger driver, I hope he wasn't that lucky it would have saved us a lot of irritation.

PS I hope the next Bond movie doesn't feature an Xcent CRDi

Good one exactly the same thought, the mobilio ad exactly depicts the quality of the MPV "Cheap and low quality".

Some of these Ad's are so cheap that one wonder's who approves such pathetic Ad's.No creativity and absolute nonsense(useless song as well).

Couple of them that are good to highlight are Honda Amaze/Vw Polo(father buys a car for the daughter and enquires about the safety of the car).

The information I have got from a dealer in punjab states that the ciaz could get ddis 1.6 motor. But this would only be available in top of the line zdi spec. Also the launch could be around 7-10 of september.

Suzuki Alivio (Maruti Ciaz) shows its rear legroom in China, Indian launch soon.

As these images show, the Ciaz is expected to offer a comfortable rear seat experience thanks to its length (which would be about 4,545 mm), and a relatively flat floor. Pre-launch bookings for the Ciaz are expected to start soon.

As a cat lover, I'm glad Maruti Suzuki are using cats to promote their cars. The music and lyrics are also nice, especially when compared to the Mobilio's hilarious wannabe rap.

I hope this is only a teaser of the real Ciaz ad, and that the ad itself will feature the car and the cool cat. This is like the release of a film's music, the actual release of the film will take place later!
