That is a pricing which falls right in the City/Verna bracket.

Ideally, Maruti should price it a notch below considering that they are competing with an aspirational Honda (1.5 Dtec) or a 1.6 CRdi Verna with a 1.3 DDIS that also drives the lower segment Swift and the Dzire (albeit without a turbo)!!

Albeit without a turbo?

Swift and DZire uses the same engine with a fixed geometry turbine, while Ertiga, Sx4 and now Ciaz will use it with a VGT.

But there are no versions without turbo!

I understand your point but the Ciaz will in all probabilities come with a Turbo for the DDIS to distinguish itself from the normal Dzires and the Swifts!!

So much so for milking the same engine with different gear ratios and FGTs and VGTs.

Even the Dzire, Ritz and Swift come with a turbo. It is a fixed geometry Turbo whereas the Ertiga, SX4 have a Variable geometry turbo.

Wow, what a let down of production model. Should have expected this from the stable that came out with the design of Celerio that belongs in the 80s, in 2014 ! I can understand smaller wheels, less snazzy alloys, but how difficult was it to retain the headlights from the concept ! Was looking forward to this car being launched, but no thank you from my side now.

the car comes with 16inch wheels which is on the higher side for this segment, projector lamps as standard, and a pretty fresh design inside and out. Ofcourse compared to the concept it is nowhere near as snazzy but did you really expect it to be close to what the concept car is considering it is a c2 segment sedan?

New picture of Ciaz surfaces, seen with decent ground clearance, Z varaint to have 16 spoke alloys and Chrome plated door handles.

Damn those black reflector inserts look completely out of place. Hyundai has managed to integrate them way better in their cars. They should have been kept more subtle.

It's been long since I had seen such progressive design from Suzuki. After kizashi this must be one of their best designs. I hope Suzuki did improve on the interiors as well. If rumors are to go by, appreciate the projectors being standard on all variants. I hope they offer airbags standard on all the variants.

@IshaanIan True, agree. Like I said, it was too much to expect. Much like the City sketches and final product.

I think Ford has the best looking cars in their portfolio now. They at least look different from each other

Please have some mercy and don't compare this thing to G35. G35 is one of the best looking cars not considering the Italian fashionistas.

Saw this on NDTV website-Looks like an advertorial for Ciaz. So the launch is very close

"Coolcatsintown" i wish Maruti had come up with something better

I beg to disagree.

All the Ford cars HAD difference but if you look closely, the grilles or rather the so called "family" face is way too similar

Anticipated Figo Relaunch will have the "Aston Martinish" grille. This is already doing duty in the just launched Fiesta and even the Eco Sport has a similar gaping face grille.

The side profiles are also similar. Yes, what is different is that Ford cars do not drive the way it did earlier barring the Fiesta and Classic(earlier Fiesta).

SO, no Ikon Josh or the 1.6 Nxt adrenaline rush, no Classic lines of the "Fusion" and no beauty or a drivers delight like the Mondeo.

Ford has evolved, maturely yes but not to an enthusiasts taste maybe!!

Back to the advertorial:

Looks a pretty amateurish attempt with the coolcatintown caption. Dont know what the team wants to convey.
A pretty muffled mumbo jumbo which gives absolutely no clarity.

Off late, after Mobilio Ad disaster, hope Ciaz is not doing a one up!!!

It does look different for a Maruti. Most of them have rounded corner designs while this is atleast has some sharp lines though not original.

Hopefully the interiors will be top notch with features.
