Seems like there is an awkward misalignment between body and rear lamps?

And the front grill and C-pillar still reminds me of the current SX4!

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

can anybody pls. confirm the AMT Gearbox mated with Diesel Engine? If this is the case this will hit the sales chart, else it will be one of those C+ segment sedans.

Ciaz actual production line units, no where close to what was showcased during Auto Expo. One of the big disappointment is same diesel engine, else I'd have seriously considered trading of my Sx4 Zdi for CiaZ Zdi.

Not impressed by the exterior looks. What they showed in auto expo and this is really different. However it will sell if it's cheaper than the competition.
That interior shot looks goods. Also the front grill looks out of place.

Not at all impressed with CIAZ, specially when compared to the pics in Auto expo. I know it was a concept car, but still....

Anyways, it will do well if MS gets the pricing right, which they will get right. Plus long waiting for CITY might benefit the Vento's / Verna's / CIAZ's...

Is that a VDI+ moniker on the badge? I wonder how many variants will be on offer. Presumably, LDI, VDI, VDI+ and ZDI.

LDi will not be offered, VDi will be the base variant, VDi+ the mid and ZDi being the top variants for Ciaz.
Not at all impressed. Ciaz needs to have some differentiating factor to stand out from the competition. Like Diesel Auto, punchy engines(1.6L ) etc. I don't think lower pricing will help Maruti's cause, as this is not A/B/B+ segment .

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

IMHO a prospective customer in C2 segment won't just look for fuel efficiency alone. In this segment people will be definitely looking for equipment level in offer, horse power and displacement. Looking at the spy shots and details available in this thread and other websites, Ciaz is not going to offer features like Verna and City or neither it is powerful like Verna, Rapid, Vento, City. In case of fuel efficiency City diesel is the most fuel efficient diesel (at least in paper) in this segment. I don't think 1.3 multijet is going to give more fuel efficiency than City i-DTEC. IMHO Ciaz is just another sedan which won't excite anyone in any manner. But If you put a 1.6 into the equation, then it can do wonders. But looking at the latest spy shots and price chart there is no chance for 1.6.

Auto Expo CIAZ is for Suzuki CEO, actual production CIAZ is for Common public.

Agree with you Latheesh. However, I never expected that same car to be the production car. Probably more so because I had seen the TBHP scoop much before. But man, just look at the tight shut lines of the bonnet and doors. And compare them to the second picture you posted!

That looks like an okayish design and theres nothing fantastic about it. The SX4 didn't fare so well as it was a bit too quirky. This design is safe and hence it will sell in good numbers.

The City and Verna are better looking IMHO.

Whats with Maruti and the rounded frontend of the cars! Spoilt an otherwise ok design.

Unless Maruti gets the pricing spot-on, Honda City will rule the roost all the way

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

The front end looks good. The side profile should be good as well. However those Honda city rear lamps spoil the show. They just dont gel with the rounded boot with the lip. Add to that, the hexagonal area around the number plate. Total mish mash.

Whats really appalling are those thin stilleto like tyres. Mileage be damned dear manufacturers - please give us wider tyres. Remember thinner "rubber" cannot be always good everywhere.

cheers!

As pointed out the car looks so different from what was showcased in the autoexpo. Very dissapointed in MS for this. Maybe Im expecting too much from them. But that is only because the production version of kizashi was almost similiar to that of its prototype. That is one of the main reason why I ended up buying the kizashi "the styling". From the photos the car is not appealing to me at all.
