Looks like there is an enthusiastic T-bhpian inside the Gurgaon factory. The last pics look like they were clicked right near the Employee security check at the plant sometime in the eve!

Keeping my fingers crossed for a game-changer from Maruti! They are certainly keen on outdoing themselves.

This is more relevant in any Tata/Fiat thread e.g. the one on Zest/Bolt, beating up TML for any blemishes in pre-production prototypes is so common.

We need common civil code here at least.

The S-Cross is being tested for Indian launch. ACI have managed a scoop by getting the spy pics of the vehicle being tested in Manali.

Here is link to their report

The Ciaz in spy pics looks awesome, a big thanks to all those guys who clicked them and risked their jobs for us. Ciaz's pricing would be a very crucial factor to determine it's victory over competitors but here too the maruti badge will do the magic.
Already was excited for the Ciaz launch and now the sx4 cross along with face lift swift and Dzire, looks maruti has some big plans for the festive season

They have mentioned 1.6L MJD Fiat engine. Strange, that CIAZ is rumoured to come with the 1.3L engine. I highly doubt, and as confirmed by Anshuman, if S-Cross will be launched with that engine configuration and will also be launched with the 1.3L.

High probabilty the S cross will come with the 1.6 Diesel mill as it is already engineered for Europe in that configuration whereas CIAZ will be with the proven 1.3MJD engine( most likely)

So, the same old 1.3 Diesel Mill from FIAT, isn't it? I perceive that will be a huge let down, for what otherwise could be an awesome car. This car may not be any fun to drive at all, especially in the highways. A great pick for aam junta for sure, but for the rest, I doubt. The car looks good, but the rear reminds me of the Dzire more that the City. I till hope, that there is some room left to imagine this coming with a 1.6, either from FIAT or Peugeot!

Look carefully and you will notice that the rear taillamp section doesn't match in in two pics posted above.

I wonder if the central pic is a photoshopped job. Will reserve my judgement until our friend Anshuman's secret birdie provides us with some revealing rear-end pics.

But yes, the curving, high boot looks like a lift from the DZire's rear, and the whole rear looks too gaudy with those chrome strips down below. I hope this is restricted to only the Chinese version and the Indian version is much simpler and toned down.

I can't understand why Maruti is not bringing a bigger Diesel engine than the current 1.3 Multijet . If there is any licencing issue with Fiat then they should look for other options. Is it only fuel efficiency that matters in this segment where they are going to fight against the likes of Verna, Vento, City?

Whaattt!?! After that beautiful concept car,the final product is this? I guess Maruti has perfected the art if doing that.Had high hopes from the Ciaz. Now it looks like a Kizashi that has grown old and wilted.

The lower picture doesn't have the chrome strip too. BTW, look at the European Alto (our A-Star). We get two reverse lamps, whereas the export markets get a rear foglamp behind the driver, and a reverse lamp on the other side. Same with the SX4, Polo, Etios, etc. This seems a bit weird and may be only reflectors, which are anyways present on the bumper.

There's nothing exciting in this. The SX4 atleast looked macho during the time of its release. A-Star, A:Wind and now this!

  • No ACC in these set of pictures, could be a mid-variant.

  • The AT model is getting paddle shifters but I don't think that will come to India.

  • Higher loading lip with narrow opening will make luggage in/out a bit difficult.
