Why is Maruti referring to what the Euro car is equipped with. For 15L, are they going to provide us 4WD & 1.6L engine with a 5 star rating is all what matters!! The answer is NO. I am doubtful about this car's future at that price with a 90 bhp engine.

The car is anyway above 4m length; why stick on to the bloody 1.3L engine then?!

The scenario on the SX4 S Cross is sketchy at this moment, the 1.6 Petrol and the diesel versions + if it kits come in SKD/CKD would make it pricey. Maruti will start with this to make its presence in the SUV segment maybe with the 1.6 's. Adding the 1.4K or 1.3 DDIS will depend on the response to this.

Dont forget the XA Alpha crossover ( Ecosport) rival is the focus of Maruti which will only debut in 2016.

The AMT ( new buzzword) will be tried in most of Maruti's forthcoming and existing range!

Exactly my thoughts, Maruti doesn't have the engines or the transmission for the power hungry. Its a dead end.

Wasn't this the same strategy with Kizashi also? They want to check the response by importing the car with a 100% tax included in the price. We all know what will happen. Ultimately the Indian market loses a well deserved car.

Instead, if they bother to manufacture this locally and price is at a 50% discounted rate than imported, these cars would find decent numbers with Maruti's back up.

These two pics "seemed" to be of different cars, looking at the wheels and the production-like look of first car, and more concept-like second car's rear. And confirmed by new pics, the first one is SX4 S Cross, while the second is Ciaz concept.

Let's hope the SX4 S cross will be available locally built with engines 1.6 P(Euro 6) , 1.6DDIS and with 1.4K and 1.3DDIS to cater to all segments

Cheers!

Going by info here, if Maruti is going to attempt selling the S-Cross with 1.3 DDiS at between 15L - 20L, it's going to meet the same fate of that of Kizashi or GV (or worse).

Ciaz with a 1.6 DDiS sounds good. Is Maruti going to get the 1.6 multijet before Fiat? And that Ciaz definitely doesn't seem like production version, but happy to be proved wrong.

This thread is now a mix of the S Cross and Ciaz. Yes, you are right on the conclusion.

Cheers!

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the engine options on the CIAZ. Some are reporting it to be offered along with a 1.3 MJD while some are stating that the much awaited 1.6MJD may be under the hood.
I found the following post from overdrive which states that it will be offered with the 1.6 DDiS (MJD).

http://overdrive.in/news/2014-auto-e...-ciaz-concept/

Can some bhpian attending the Auto Expo please confirm as to what is the official news on the engines to be offered with the the CIAZ?

Revv On!!

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Somehow it appears to me that the Ciaz is still at the same stage as the original scoop by @.anshuman. Maruti Suzuki doesn't seems to moved ahead to the next stage, But, I also understand that the engines, design (exterior & interior), etc have all been finalised, & the car would soon be testing all over NCR & thus, Oct-14 launch of the car is 100% sure.

The concept looks stunning to me, much better than Honda City & if it is as good to drive as the Swift, I am ready to put my money on this.

if the SX4 s-cross comes with a diesel and sub 16 lakhs prices, I am sure it will sell being a modern suzuki product and in a segment with not much competition

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Pics in page 20 is confusing. Ciaz/ YL1 pics in initial pages were looking more 'production like'. Strangely Maruti seems to have gone back to concept stage.

S Cross too looks great, hope they don't go the 'testing demand till then CBU/ CKU' way.

However I feel Maruti will be having a wait and watch approach for 1.6D engine, mainly with uncertainty on diesel pricing / subsidy.
