The back and side profile seems to be inspired by range rover evoque as well.

Re: Jeep B-Segment SUV: Here are more details

Like with most FIAT announcements I wonder when this will fructify. Even going by the date line of the posts in the thread, it reflects the time taken by FIAT to act. By the time they are ready to move in, the world has already moved ahead and the FIAT is left beating the stick. Now with Maruti and Honda entering into the fray the chances of FIAT making a dent is almost a foregone conclusion and to add insult to injury they will price it in a manner that will amount to infanticide.

Upcoming Jeep premium SUV - interiors spied

A test mule of what appears to be Jeep's upcoming premium SUV (codenamed project 551) has been spotted in Brazil. The leaked spy shots reveal the upcoming SUV's interiors.

The spy shots make it apparent that the new Jeep SUV will borrow many parts from other models of the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) group. The steering wheel, for example, is similar to that of other Jeep models. Features visible inside the cabin include a touchscreen infotainment system, and automatic climate control. The images also indicate that the car gets seats that appear to offer ample side bolstering.

The new SUV will be made on FCA's small-wide platform that also underpins the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X. In terms of size, the vehicle is expected to be larger than the Renegade.

The new SUV from Jeep will first go on sale in Brazil. India is likely to be the production hub for the vehicle. It is expected to be exported to RHD markets like Australia, United Kingdom, and South Africa.

The Jeep 551 (aka the second-gen Compass) will make it's debut later this month at FCA’s new Pernambuco assembly plant in Brazil.

For India, Jeep will start building the 551 from the first half of FY2017.

Re: Jeep B-Segment SUV: Here are more details

Some info on the 2nd compact SUV offering from Jeep, courtesy ACI:

Quote:
To further fuel its growth strategy and get more mass-market, Jeep is currently in the process or readying another SUV which will sit below the current smallest Jeep, the Renegade, globally. Primarily aimed at the emerging markets, this new SUV will share its underpinnings with Fiat which will also most likely have its own version as well.

This new SUV will be based on Fiat’s X6H platform. This new architecture is an evolution of the current Fiat 326 platform that has been strengthened and is lighter than its predecessor. It is also likely to underpin a range of next-gen Fiat models. The new SUV, currently known by its codename Jeep MG, will be first shown next year and will likely be manufactured at Fiat’s Betim plant in Brazil. It will be sold in South America initially. Style-wise, the new Jeep MG will get more of a squarish or boxy look, just like the Jeep Renegade. This new Jeep will be one of the future models that will be sold in India and it will be locally manufactured at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility, just like the Compass.

What’s more, there will be a 4WD variant as well.

Re: Jeep B-Segment SUV: Here are more details

From the Jeep (US) website, I understand that the Renegade sits below the Compass in terms of pricing (standard models). And the cheapest model is the Patriot.
http://www.jeep.com/en/renegade/#mod...egory=standard
So this obviously should be below the Patriot - and the pricing below 20 Lacs?

Expect it to target the Hyundai Creta/Renault Duster.

The way Jeep has priced its other products, I doubt it. Though it will be a pleasant surprise if they price it in the Duster range.

1. Jeep is aiming for 90% localisation for the India-spec Compass, and near to 100% localisation for the Jeep MG.

2. The India-spec Compass will target the Honda CR-V/BMW X1 pricing range. (link)

3. The "Jeep MG" will be the smallest Jeep when it goes on sale (since the Patriot will be discontinued by then). Much smaller than the Compass.

4. The "Jeep MG" is specifically made for emerging markets such as India and Brazil. That in itself is an indication. (link)

Highest levels of localisation + small/compact footprint = competitively priced.

Some are speculating an EcoSport/TUV300 pricing for the "Jeep MG", but I am pretty sure it won't be priced below the Hyundai Creta.

Even if it competes with Creta, it will create ripples in the market mainly for two reasons viz. Off-road competence and Jeep brand. Though the brand in itself is relatively new (so to speak) but by the time of launch of this vehicle I am sure the brand awareness will be high. Afterall, Jeep - There's only one!

More importantly, if the build quality of the current Renegade is anything to go by, then it will be very acceptable in the segment it is hoping to operate.

Let's wait and watch.

I'm sure of one thing - if it is priced around the Creta levels with top notch features, it will turn the market upside down!
In fact it will rip open the CSUV market and expand it to a different level.
Let's see how things pan out.

This is Correct.
The Patriot is the lowest end Jeep, followed by the Compass, then the Renegade and so on.
Saying that, the Jeep Patriot is absolutely perfect in terms of size and if it comes in TrailRated Avatar to India, it is a seriously formidable vehicle.
A comfortable rival to any other SUV out there and quite possibly, the future, as far as our Armed Forces and Police Forces etc are concerned because it is every bit as capable as the GYPSY and far more comfortable, with so much more in terms of speccing.

I think this can be one heck of a vehicle indeed!

This Jeep MG looks seriously like the next best thing!

Very interesting indeed! The audio (in the clip) sounds a bit odd. If what it says is true, come (sometime in) 2017, I'll seriously be looking at the resale value of a 3 year old AT Ecosport.
With that kind of pricing and with the Jeep pedigree, it's going to carve out huge chunks on both sides of its segment for sure. And this will in turn force competition like the Kaptur and others give unadulterated versions at competitive prices.
Waiting, wanting, longing (like Alfred Dolittle) -for the launch!
