Can we remove these graphics/vinyl work without harming the paintwork, from windsong edition after purchase. As otherwise package is looking good.

I can't believe that it's the same MSIL who launched the Zen Carbon & Steel special editions. Those were indeed special. They haven't missed a single chance to kill the swift saga by launching models like this and the crappy RS!

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

Lets give Maruti a little credit atleast , they have offered something reasonably substantial in this one unlike some of their other limited editions which ONLY had stickers on it.

Yes the stickers suck and i would never buy anything that looked like this or called Heart Song for that matter.

Seat covers
Touchscreen music system , 4 speakers
Door Sills
Floor mats
An attempt at an internal theme
And its a bit cheaper

Not saying it is a full got but not a bare bone either..

Incidentally Heartsong is a real estate project by Indian Builders Experion

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

I am just trying to understand what exactly is wrong with the Maruti designers.

They are actually giving a lot of VFM by adding new features to the V trim (Sony music player + Reverse parking sensors + Sporty interiors + Rear spoiler + mud flaps + door sills + foot-well light + PVC flooring) and giving it at a lower price than the regular V. If I understand correctly, this special edition is on the face-lifted Swift. This should all make the buyers lap up the special edition. No one should have picked up the regular V but gone for the special edition. Correct?

So, why did Maruti have to do this hideous graphics on the exterior? Do they really not know what the customer wants?? Or was it actually to reduce the demand?? Only someone who wishes to make compromise to the exteriors will go for this model. I am confused. Why come up with a special edition and make sure it does not sell much. Maruti has some ultimate strategies up their sleeves.

I think this is a serious error from Maruti officials to price it cheaper than regular VXi. They might have planned this special version earlier (before the RS 20 - 30K price hike announced due to Excise duty hike) and now forgot to add the excise duty hike for the special edition.

On another note; if it is not an error, then it may imply:

i) The huge profit Maruti is making from regular Swift! (That is obvious when we compare prices of Swift with Ritz as well.)
ii) Maruti themselves would like to break the monotony of Swifts on road!
iii) Swift may be under serious threat from i20.
iv) Maruti wanted to introduce a special edition for Ritz, but later decided against it and applied all those "special" things to Swift because no changes can make Ritz sell because of its "hungry" rear.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

May be not that cheaper as we are assuming. They may not be providing Rs 20000 official cash discount. now cut the prices of basic car kit and regular music system which is replaced. It will be almost the same if you do not calculate the cost of the special edition kit in the tune of 30000- 40000.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

I hope this sticker is removable.

If that's the case then this is actually a VFM offering from Maruti. My friend is looking for a 6 lac hatchback, this car sans the sticker job will be awesome for him.

Regards,
Shashi

The car makes a lot of sense especially considering the added equipment (at a lower cost than stock) which would attract several individuals who fancy such features but don't have the 'heart' to add the equipment to their brand new car. Minus the tasteless vinyl of course!

Also, while offering discounts is one thing which every other manufacturer does, limited editions have almost become Maruti's USP. Each time the company wishes to dispose off the excess stock of a particular car, the first thing they do is think of a 'fancy' nomenclature. Next, they call their 'sticker-wala' for a quick design wrap for the exteriors and there it is!...The new 'Limited Edition' model is ready!

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

I actually do not have a problem with that strategy per say, its a good option if one does not want to give a straight out discount , my only contention and point would be that the edition then needs to be a genuine edition like they have done in this case,

Any while we may criticize maruti for taking out sticker only editions , the fact is that people are picking it up , in which case Maruti would think - why change a winning formula till it stops working , a bit hard to refute that line of thinking.

Naah. I guess with the new refreshed Swift, things have changed. The car comes in 'Pearl Arctic White' now while the Dzire is still sold in 'Arctic White'. May be once the Dzire too is refreshed, they will have a single common colour.

Also, the 'Windsong' edition comes with a spoiler painted in 'Arctic White':

Maruti-Suzuki is fast-tracking the Swift Diesel AMT for a possible festive season launch later this year, according to the Business Standard.

Quote:
The Celerio petrol, launched in January 2014, will see an 800-cc diesel variant being added around April. This will be the smallest diesel engine powering a passenger car in the market, and possibly the cheapest diesel car as well. The Swift diesel will also see a new variant with automated manual transmission being launched closer to the end of the year.
