Those alloys look sad in comparison to the lovely Enkei on offer now. And no smoked headlights either. VGT will be amazing on the Swift.

Yes, it doesn't look like Blazing Red. The new DZire got Bright Red, but not many cars on road.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

IF they release a Swift sport, from an engine point of view, all I can think off is a 90bhp DDSI and a 1.4 K Series. Thats at best the Indian bound Swift sport would be if ever it comes. But still that 1.4 K Series should be fun!

+1.

I would have loved a simpler design, similar to the Swift sport. Its not a deal-breaker, but would have made the design lot cooler!

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

So some of the changes expected are-drl, new alloys(if the ones in the spy pics are to replace the current one, a big thumps down from me), cruise control(whoa) rear ac vents, keyless entry, button start, autofolding mirrors.

Considering these changes, is the price expected to remain the same? Can the 50k price difference between Wagon rRand stingray a indication of increase in price? What are the new features worth in terms of increase in price and desirability?

This report says the Swift will come with a 4-speed AT box which I suspect could be on the petrol model just like the Dzire.

Hopefully they launch the AT with the DDiS too.

Let's see how many features really make to the segments that really sell which are the VXi/VDi variant.

The report speaks about 'new' alloys for the higher variants. Hope they don't change the current alloy wheel design.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

just read this...maruti seems to be replying to polo & i20 launches. Swift would be more fun now.

http://www.rushlane.com/maruti-swift...-12130515.html

Hope they add read discs, navingation/entertainment unit as on ciaz, rear a/c.

Nice. "Power packed machines coming soon"- I really hope Maruti is hinting about the DDiS200 and K14 engines.

Rear discs should also be confirmed now since the spy pics also have them and Maruti is hinting at transforming the Swift into a show stopper.

I believe swift would be more expensive with the add on features and the face lift dezire should roll out soon on the foot steps of Swift. I hope they also create some thing like the swift sport available in Europe with all the features and power of a hot hatch. I agree sales for this one wouldn't be a typical maruti.

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

This can hardly be called a "Face lift".

Where do you see the "face" being lifted.
Adding some bling, some DRLs and a Start Button should not command a single penny over the current price in my honest opinion.

Very bland and lackluster effort to say the least.

Some pointers I would have been happier in this facelift:

1) DRLs across V and Z variants
2) ABS for V variants as standard
3) ACC for V variants
4) Rear Wiper(at least) if not defogger in V Variants
5) Release some rear seating space
6) Redesign the rear, which is ugly in an otherwise good looking car
7) At least driver Airbag
8) Parking Sensors
9) Better Boot space

Addition Features for Z
1) Alloys
2) 2 Airbags
3) ABS/EBD
4) Rear Defogger/Wipe and Wash
5) Parking Rear view cam
6) In Dash NAV System
7) Auto adjusting IRVM
8) Rear AC
9) Auto retracting mirrors

Re: 2014 Suzuki Swift Facelift Revealed

I would like to believe that Maruti does more than just decal work this time to call it a facelift. It is traditional to Maruti to milk as much as possible in current volume making models rather than going complete off of it like other spirited manufacturers do.
IMHO, knowing Maruti's risk averse style when it comes to sales & marketing, they are not going to launch anything that is totally a refreshed automobile than the current one. The "fun to drive" Swift is no fun to stay the same for years & almost a decade now!

That statement couldn't be further from truth. The Swift we got in 2011 was a new generation, an all new car. It just looks the same on the outside as Suzuki followed an evolution rather than revolution and rightly so since the previous generation had done the hard work of making a distinct design very popular. That said, the new generation didn't share a single panel with the old one. The engines were carried over and they too received minor tweaks.

What we are due now is just a face lift on the other hand. The changes will only be skin deep.

MSIL reserves decal work just for limited editions thankfully.
