Well, that sure was quick. Even though it was priced at a premium it actually justified the extra over the Polo, Punto Evo and Swift.

Like I mentioned the Highline Polo 1.5 TDI is actually cheaper than the i20 CRDI Asta by almost 40K.

I wonder if this is the quickest price hike after a car launch?
i think Hyundai has walked a very fine line with the pricing of the I20. The current pricing is such that it is neither screaming value for money nor is it exorbitant. So, people who are smitten by the features or the looks of the new I20 might actually choose it over a Xcent/Amaze/Dzire/Swift/Polo etc.
But if Hyundai hikes the price substantially (say, something like a 20K increase), I think the car will cease to be a value for money and lot of the fence sitters will prefer the other choices. I don't think Hyundai can afford to do that at this point. but you never know!

It was not specified. From what the VP, Marketing of Honda told me, demand surges happen when people hear of impending price hikes as opposed to discounts!

That might be true but on a car with a month log waiting period (inquired at 3 dealers in NCR) I don't feel how such a news will increase sales if they do not insulate people who have already booked (like me) from the price hike.

Wow, she definitely is a head turner. I saw one in white few hours back and was impressed by the European lines and stance. Overall dimensional ratios are good; the thickness of the C-pillar, its blackening, the driver positioned beautifully when looking from outside. The creases are there subtly, not an eggshell tallboy.

Eagerly awaiting reviews, official and others.

Hyundai has definitely come a long way from the Chinese/Japanese/Korean looking Santro and old i10. Plastic quality and of course, features too. Maruti Suzuki could take a leaf out of them in this context I guess.

The vehicle is a looker. Got many head turns on the way back home after delivery.

And driving home a new car after delivery is a Nerve wracking experience always :P

I took nearly 2 hours to negotiate traffic for 30 odd km and bring the car to a temple near my home.

Congrats Raghav & Bubby!!! I booked mine too before launch in Bangalore but the dealer says delivery will be in the next month only. It is sounding a bit fishy to me.

That makes 2 of us in B'lore. I was told even before I booked that I won't make it to the first lot. The promise was that I'll get mine in the first weeks (?!) of Sep.
