From the second pic it looks something like a larger e2o.
But, there were reports of there being 2 SUVs under-4m from Mahindra, the smaller one being the S101.

Looks quite ugly to me. Looks a lot like the tallboy Santro. Imagining it with whiskers like those on the XUV, it becomes scary!

Looks more like a hatchback. I thought Mahindra learned a lesson from Quanto but I am wrong. It doesn't look like Mini-SUV from any angle. If they still want to suffix SUV they would be better off with Micro-SUV or even Nano-SUV.

Gentlemen, that's the whole idea of camouflaging the vehicle when it is being tested. You can't go around testing a vehicle that looks like a million bucks 3 years before launch - it will allow competitors to pull up their socks and react.

If it looks ugly with camouflage, its a job well done by the "camouflagers". I'd wait for the covers to come off before writing it off. Because, generally Mahindra gets their SUV styling spot on.

I bet all those Cheetah lines, chrome, bonnet scoops and fake vents are hidden behind those black robes.

I had the chance to look at these mules up close. The cars were ripping through bad roads in the rain in the Chengalpet - Kanchipuram road. This could easily be Mahindra's next shot at the compact segment.

This is going to be pitted against the incoming Suzuki compact crossover. I don't see anything else holding a candle next to these two.

I was driving today from Trichy to Chennai and on the GST road about 200km from Chennai happened upon this car. It is obviously a disguised mini SUV.

Along with this development, I also understand they are looking at doing a 4-cylinder 1.5L diesel instead of the 3-Cylinder current version. But on the new engine, have they thought of taking its refinement levels to like the 2.2 MHawk ?

A well refined 1.5/1.6 90-100 BHP/200-250 Nm diesel is a must for this segment. I sincerely hope they cover this refinement aspect too.

I probably saw this vehicle doing testing in Tumkur - Kolhapur route. TN 19 was the plate and it had two light pick up trucks in the front. The pick up trucks looked similar to the Genio models, though had heavy camouflage.

Spotted this car in Chennai while going to the Airport. Any idea which car this is?

Doesn't seem to be the compact CUV from Maruti, or is it?

Didn't get much time to snap more images as the car went by real quick. No idea if it was a petrol or a diesel. There was too much traffic on the roads.











Apologies for the small-ish pics. Failtel's 3G coverage at the airport is downright pathetic. Seems like I'm running on a dial up.

This definitely seems to be Mahindra's new mini SUV which will eventually replace Quanto. Last heard,Mahindra is planning to release it sometime in April - May 2015
