The 2010 Ford Fusion and the refreshed Fiesta Hatch were spotted by one of our BHPian 'prasadhminna' between Ambattur to Surupet Road in Chennai. Looks like its still early days for these products as the LHD version are being tested here!

Mods, please move this thread if posted in wrong section!

Don't we have a front shot? Wanted to check what the new Fiesta hatch looks like! Is it the Aston Martin inspired grill?

Also what are the badges behind the Mondeo? 2.0 Ecoboost? :D

Fusion looks okay-ish but Fiesta hatch looks delicious. I would have loved if there were front angle shots. Contrary to the popular opinion, I love that Aston Martin'ish grill. Hopefully it looks as good in flesh and meat as it does in pics.

Unfortunately not! But it says SEL AWD! Will Ford ever come up with an all wheel drive sedan? I personally don't think so but you never know! That would be a segment first if that ever happens. And it also says Flex-Fuel in the bottom right of the boot. More details on flex fuel here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible-fuel_vehicle

The hatch looks like a Jazz from the back .The hatch with 1.6 will be just awesome.
Will these ever get launched for Indian customers ?
Cheers

Saw the hatchback yesterday at the St Thomas Mount Butt road area.
The hatch looked electric in the blue. The front looked like the Fiesta sedan, but different.

The badge reads Flexifuel.

Interesting to see a FFV being tested in India.

Excellent catch by your friend. And thanks for sharing it!

BTW... On having a closer look at the pictures I really couldn't spot a Steering on the LHS. Can you guys try to figure out something?

What's that equipment mounted on the RHS of the roof on the sedan?

With 5% VLT tints, it's hard to say which side the steering is on and whatever that equipment on the roof is, it's present on both the cars.

The ford fusion in the above photo isn't the current gen version because the current gen version looks like this.

PS: this one looks absolutely smashing!!

Indeed, that is the old gen fusion. I was going to write the same thing. The new fusion is heavily "inspired" from the Aston Martin in the front design. Of course, it is already quite a lauded car, with all the typical ford characteristics of handling and steering feel etc. It can go up against the likes of Passat/Accord/Camry etc. plus also have good engine options - Perhaps the 1.6 ecoboost and a diesel.

Guys this is great news! Have seen and sat in one of them in Thailand where this hatch is one of the very common ones. And believe me this is one hot hatch and coupled with the Fiesta drive its going to stir up the Indian premium hatch market!

The equipment on the roof of the sedan is actually a GPS antenna. It is for tracking the car and not for navigation purpose.

Guess one of our team members has already spotted the new Fiesta hatch way back in 2010. That was a RHD model. Maybe the team is done testing the RHD version for the local markets and has now begun the testing of LHD version for Intl' markets?

Ford had mentioned in their initial press release a year/two back about a D-Segment sedan was being on cards. This was suppose to be a part of line up of products which Ford had mentioned which they planed to release in first half of this decade.

But I am not sure of the Fiesta hatch. If its being looked like a Figo replacement, then very good. I expect prices to be high, engine de-tuned against what it comes in Europe. Not sure where the eco-boost would land it here. Off course its all guesswork/speculation.

The fact that 'this car is lhd' is written on the rear windshield :) So the steering should be there on the lhs itself.
