The fuel tank is rated at 50 litres. When I drove to the pump from the showroom , the empty indicator was constantly on, from there it guzzled 46 liters till auto cut out.

Looking forward to a detailed ownership report on the same.
I'm thinking of replacing my Figo in some time and the Duster awd is on top of my list. |
Thanks JayD , it is on the cards.

Hello Sheel , Thank you. Yes dropped the idea after checking the EcoSport out, the inside space felt even less than my Getz. I choose this over Scorpio because of ride quality , fuel economy and dimensions. This just about squeezes in my garage with literally inches to spare , a Scorpio would not fit. The turning radius of 5.2 m is a real boon.

Thank you. Yes, when it catches the light at certain angles it really looks like that. The green colour in the Ad and brochures and the actual rendition in flesh is somewhat different. But to me personally it looks great on the road. The green colour is accentuated under soft light.

I am a fan of sleepers so AWD decals missing is a good thing.
And I hope it goes without saying that a lot of us would be waiting for your report on 4WD usage if you get a chance. |
Thanks fine69. Here is a profile pic for you. I agree on the missing decals 100% , the badge at the rear says it all !
A long road trip needs to wait till the winter holidays, it will be a couple of months before I receive the vehicle registration smart card.
The car (it feels more like a car than a SUV ) is great to drive. There is massive pull throughout the gear range. Here is what I found in a 2013 US Dacia Duster Owners
Manual (Except for the Cruise Control and Speed Limited function in the New Indian version , pretty much the same)
Here is a link to the
MediaNav manual.
"Vehicles with 4x4 (4WD) transmission
On flat, level ground, with the vehicle
unladen, you are recommended
to start in second gear."
Did not see this in my copy though. I followed this advise and in effect did not use first gear to start off , rather using second. In city driving you can almost completely be in 4th and 5th gears . You can make do with minimal shifts if you ignore the gear shift advise popping up in the instrument cluster. Not saying I am doing that , the run in clearly mentions not to exceed 2500 rpm for the first 1500 Kms. But coming from a petrol hatch , going to almost crawling speed in 4th and the accelerating back is a joy to behold.
