How true is this news? Internationally, Suzuki is stopping the production of Ritz (aka Splash). Will Maruti do the much-awaited rear-lift for Ritz? Atleast an Ertiga'ish rear for Ritz will do much better justice to an otherwise brilliant car.

The YRA hatchback is supposed to be the Ritz replacement.

As per the information available presently, YRA is a premium hatch and will sit above Swift, while Ritz is placed below Swift. IMO, YRA cannot be a workhorse like Ritz; rather it will be in the lines of Ciaz - more boot, more rear space, just-enough (and sufficient too) engines, and with a styling that will go well with most of the people.

There were news that in overseas markets, Suzuki will introduce a new A-segment car that will sit along with Celerio, which is unlike any other A-segmenter. May be, this modified Ritz?

YRA was primarily for the EU market and was targetted as the Ritz replacement.

In international markets, Suzuki is discontinuing Alto (aka A-Star) and Splash (aka Ritz), and replacing both with the Celerio.

Now,reading through the link, since they are saying that "there’s anything like it, it will create a new segment, it’s Suzuki’s twist on funkiness", I guess this car may the (Kei) Hustler or a (non-Kei) grown-up Hustler in Celerio platform. Because, nothing can be more "twistier" than this!

Looks like Suzuki wants to remove the "boxy" image from Wagon R. I thought Wagon R was boxy but after seeing this, I withdraw that statement. THIS is how a boxy car would look like!

It looks like a Merc from this angle, probably due to all that camouflage.

It would be a shame if they eventually make it look like another model that was produced when there was a discount sale for chrome.

As the release of S Cross nears, Maruti 'Indianises' the exteriors. Apart from the two chrome slant grill at the front there seem chrome inserts on top section of tail lights.

Looks more European than Japanese. Love it very much. Even the wheel wells seem to be filled adequately. Car looks wide and has a good stance. If it has 90% of Swift's sportiness, then it should be a winner with the right price.

A 1.6 is unlikely, with the news that Flat is downsizing the 1.6 to 1.5 for Indian markets. Same may be the case with a Peugeot. With VW already downsized to a 1.5, it's doubtful if any manufacturer will produce a 1.6 until the the Excise rules change!

I like the new headlamps and the two slat grill. Somehow has a wide and planted look and feel to it. With a 1.5 engine- if they are able to slot it directly against the Duster - Renault has a LOT to worry about.

I think what customers like about cross overs looking like SUVs is the commanding driving position one gets.
With this and other (Fiat, VW hatches), you still feel like sitting in a car and not sure if that turns off people from these.

Does anybody know the codename for the S-Cross? I didnt find a single S-Cross exported to Japan for evaluation but I am seeing a lot of YL8 and YAD. Curious to know if they ditched the 1.6L for the National engine.
