re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

@RavenAvi - There is nothing to leak. All the variant information is already available at the Fiat India website except the Engine Spec (which we know anyway).

Check it out here - http://www.fiat-india.com/specificat...icle=Avventura

I might have missed this information but I don't remeber seeing it anywhere on the web. What have fiat done to the boot area of the Avventura where we keep the spare wheel in the normal Puntos and Evos?

It would be great if anybody has pictures of it and post it

re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

A Friend of mine who works for a fiat dealership (top in south india in terms of sales as per him) informed me that the avventura is being launched on 21st. Just in time for the festivals!

Hope fiat is starting a new chapter in their india story.

And you have to rely on hearsay, rumour and gossip to know that; that too 4 days before the supposed launch!
Fiat needs a new book; heck a new subject even.. not a chapter!

re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

With 60 Kgs more to it's kitty, Fiat has managed the Avventura to garner a slightly faster time to the ton compared to the Punto Evo(90 HP). But the question is not how, but why?

Why not earlier but now ?

Even though these micro-seconds and milli-seconds doesn't matter until we are on a race track or a drag strip, it looks (so) good on paper and would have been too for the people compare cars exclusively on paper.

Tried reading your post a few times. Just couldn't figure out if you are for or against the performance increase?

Can you please come again?

I guess he is trying to say, why so late? And why not on the Punto? The whole world has been lamenting poor outright performance of Punto even in 90 hp guise. With a 60 kg deficit, the Punto for sure would better these timings and atleast on paper would be closer to the others when it comes to the numbers.

Yeah you are right. They need a new book. Infact they've already got one, but it's going to take time for people to understand the script, FIAT may be slow in implementing its serious plans but definitely is not a dead horse.
And on the discussion of power, If 90hp is good enough, wonders me what the reaction would be if the multiair is plonked into it. Anyone interested in seeing that happen?

Ecosport and Avventura are very much comparable in my opinion. Quickly went through the dimensions of these cars. And also considering both cars are spec'ed with similar power (Diesel), they are very much comparable.

The height difference is what defines the perception. High seating position in the Ecosport gives that SUV feel which wouldn't be the case in Avventura.
