Just registered myself on the VW Test Drive link. Got a call from BBY PR office in 15 mins. They took down all details and updated me with some features and gave an over view of the car. They have forwarded my details to the local dealer and have been told that prices will only be given by them and they shall contact me now once the TD car and prices are available. Not that i am in market for a car right now. But 1.6 TDI Polo. Couldn't resist.

- Has Vento 1.6 diesel engine and not 1.5.

Small things which i liked
- Outside RVM electrically adjustable
- Lane change indicator

Only thing missing from polo GT tdi is ESP.

9.9 on road Bangalore. Shocked I must say! I remember reading that it will be around 4k-6k more than the tsi model. Bangalore taxes argh! Could you confirm the price of the car?

Expected delivery date and what is the booking amount being asked? You have booked the White colour?

Any freebies with the car?

9.9-10 L is too much for a small hatch after all. Just doesn't make sense.

Don't know what VW was thinking when they were pricing this car. They are ruining the sales before it starts off also.

Booking amount is 10k.

Delivery date is 1 week max.

Contemplating on White/Red let see and No freebies.

Guys 9.9L on road bangalore is not shocking for us. The Hyundai i20 CRDI Asta is around 10K lesser at 9.7 - 9.8L.

The GT TSI is 9.7L on road Bangalore.

Also, the Vento is exactly 2L more than the Polo GT TDI. With the Vento you get you get boot and more space at the back for 2L more. If you don't need the boot, this car is reasonable priced.

Since its unlikely that they will keep both the engine options going forward, I don't understand VW's strategy here. If they are launching the 1.5 in 2014, why bring in another engine option for such a short period?

As Vidyut mention above, the price difference is already close to 2L compared to Vento. Can't really see VW releasing the 1.5 with a reduced price tag. And even if they do, it could end up being the same story as the Jazz. Thankfully for those going for this option, spares etc wont be an issue thanks to the Vento/Rapid.

Kudos to VW though, for providing such competent engines in petrol and diesel hatchbacks. Along with the 1.5L Liva, many of us not obsessed with the 'diggi' (boot) now have some decent options.

Its very possible that they have an excess of the 1.6tdi's and this is a good way to finish off the stock before the 1.5s come in. Happened with many manufacturers, like Hyundai with the Getz crdi, etc.

Since the horsepower rating will be the same, they can continue with the GT TDI without any problems.

Frugal and fast is something you can't ignore with this diesel engine. It will be interesting to see how balanced (or not) the car is with the additional weight up front.

The GT TSI is still my choice between the two GT's.

Wow...Finally launched. Its right up there on my to buy. If its not the Vento, then will definitely pick this up. Though 9.9 On-Road is a bit on the higher side, the engine and the Volkswagen badge justify it. The i20 Asta CRDI retails for maybe 20K less probably.
