Re: Should Tata just put JLR in charge of Tata motors?

There are unconfirmed reports that TML has sold Jaguar brand to Geely. I hope it’s not true and JLR brand remains with Tata Motors.

what is the source of this information? Is it just another speculation site?
Given the money JLR is pouring into Jaguar's rebranding, I would doubt this rumor. If Jaguar does get relaunched and then gets into trouble, that is the time I'd presume the likes of Geely come swooping in to buy a business at pennies to the dollar.

Then again, this industry has sprung many surprises. You never know.

That was an April Fools joke. Let’s not discuss it any further here.

Why would Geely buy Jaguar when they have a big holding in Mercedes and are struggling with Polestar

Also true. This is validating my doubts on the speculation posted. Guess that's sufficient rationale to debunk it.

C'mon folks, it's an April Fools joke by Autodrive. Here's the link to the original post, which does not work for me and hence here's an archive of it.

Once you have developed electric technology, it can be implemented everywhere. So if you use the technology in more brands more will it be cheaper due to mass production. Hence it will be viable to get more brands to increase hardware and software sales.

Hence it would be viable for JLR to acquire or launch new brands like Avinya. I think Austin Martin will be a good acquisition for JLR and launch legendary UK brands again.

Indeed! I had suggested this here
