It is the cutest Mahindra ever! I believe it is a better bet then duster on account of pricing, features and after sale service. Will have to wait for official TBHP review though for final verdict, till then Renault guys may have some sleepless nights.

I agree. For a moment I thought I was watching back to back episodes of "Krishi Darshan" :uncontrol.
Maybe it has been already stated somewhere but what I was looking for was the amount of boot space. How many liters of boot space is on offer with the 2nd row seats unfolded/folded? Sorry didn't come across in the specs published in their web site.
I'm bit disappointed with the pricing though. This still cant be a car given the traits of xylo with body roll , bouncy ride and handling issues. 8 lakhs for a c6 with a 3 pot seems to be bit too high and i'm quiet sure this wont be as fuel efficient as hatches.

boot space is about 690 litres with side facing seats folded but middle row in place.
Interesting product and pretty decent pricing.
About performance, Mahindra tuned it for
At a price almost 2L less than top end Ertiga, this is good competition. Ertiga has better ride quality and handling, and 3rd seats. It also comes with better reliability of Maruti. On the other hand Quanto has significantly better space due to the width factor (100+mm more), has much better drivability in the city and ofcourse is much cheaper.
I am really interested in how Ertiga-Duster-Quanto battle is going to shape up. It would be fun when GM and Ford enters the battle.
With this pricing and utility, this will soon be seen as replacements for Gypsy, Qualis etc for police forces across several states.
Buy a white colored Quanto, people in NCR know how much respect a white Gypsy gets on the road.
Quanto might be a nice offering from Mahindra. The reaction towards the pricing is quite a mixture and I belong to the category who feel Quanto to be a bit over priced. I don't think that Quanto won't eat too much of Ertiga's demand. When we compare Quanto with Ertiga, I feel Ertiga's all variants are more VFM that Quantos variant lineup(especially the diesel variants).

The Quanto weighs 1,640 kgs. It's a heavy thing this.

Very cleverly M&M has managed to hide this information in the official brochure (I tried searching for it, but didn't yield any results). It could be one of the deal breakers for this vehicle if the kerb weight is indeed 1640 kilos. In comparison the Duster weighs a mere 1200-1250 kilos depending upon the variant. I think this is the prime reason for the 17kmpl ARAI certified FE for the Quanto compared to 19-20kmpl for the Duster.

the variant one can buy is @ 6.34 L + 22 K Octroi = 6.66 L = 7.5 L onroad Thane:Frustrati
I would better buy Scorpio |
+1 to that.
Further, if you want safety (ABS + Airbags), only the C8 gives that @ 7.36 L + 30K Octroi = 9L on-road. The comparative prices for the Ertiga ZDI ~10.5L OTR
Going 1 model lower that has ABS but no airbags -
MARUTI ERTIGA VXI ABS ~8.5 L OTR
Quanto C6 ~ 8.2L OTR
This is where the battle should be......
The Fiery Black, Java Brown and Rock Beige seem like the best colour options on the Quanto (At least on the website)
I reckon the Quanto will hit the Rio and Ertiga hard.

I was at the launch and so asked the folks at the venue. In my opinion, the Quanto looks more hideous in the flesh than in real life and the last two seats are unusable by anyone over 5 feet tall. So any real advantage over the Duster in terms of more seats? I don't think so. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Especially since things like the DZire have been hits!
Thats seriously some killer pricing. Quanto will surely affect the sales of ertiga as well as the duster. Waiting for the official review to judge its true worth.
God bless competition!!! :D
EDIT: Here is the link to the launch video.
Quanto launch video
Ertiga's third row seat also not for adults, only for childrens. same in Quanto.
I booked C6 variant for my brother. from last many years we wait a car with good GC, high torque, high seating ( very good for lond drives ) and good space. Indian road conditions very bad for low GC cars.
So from my point of view, This car worth and in Jaipur for C6 7.9L to 7.95L on road is very good price.
I'll wait for 4WD Quanto to replace my Scorpio 4WD 2004.
