This App was working some weeks back, but now it doesn't show the details. This app used data from Parivahan site, but recently the Parivahan Website was made more secure and now, it asks verification code as an anti spam.
Hence I guess, this Vehicle Info App isn't working. If someone wants vehicle details, they can check it at the Website/App of Parivahan which is also available on Google Play Store

I hope you guys are trying with the correct number - 7738299899
The original number- 09212357123 was replaced with the number given above. |
It works perfectly with this number that you've given above. I just checked using my own car's number and the details returned via SMS are absolutely right.
This works for vehicles much older than 2003.
The following actually happened:
A colleague scouting for an old Ambassador took me along to assess the vehicle's condition etc.
It looked decent, drove a little rough but clocked triple digit speeds rather quickly. The chap showing it to us said he had been in the owner's employment since 2006 which is when the vehicle was bought from a local showroom.
Having driven the vehicle and checked the usual stuff my colleague and I were quite pleased at the "find". So much so we wanted to fix a final meeting with the owner which he was insisting on.
That was when I did the "vahan" thing. It was not because anything seemed out of place but just like that. What turned up made us take a picture of the VIN and carry out a double check - it was not 10 but just 26 years young!!

Is Pune RTO behind everybody else in feeding data to this central system ? My friend purchased a scooter in June, and the data is still not reflecting in Parivahan, both the site and SMS.
The scooter is MH12NC series. Also, I tried with the latest MH12NJ series (< 1 month old) and is not working for me either. Is it the case for all RTOs are just Pune/MH which are languishing ?

My two month old car is already there in the database, from when I saw it more than a month back. Hence I think this should be some RTO specific issue maybe.

Leave 2003, I found the data of a car registered in 1962 :D There is data of cars in the old series, like CKM, MYD etc. Check out MYD 1000 and you will know.

The Pune RTO is extremely slow, I registered my car nearly two months ago in the MH12NE series and yet haven't got my RC, nor do the details appear in the SMS service.

MH 12 NE (NON EXISTENT) Series!:D
Ha!
But Jokes apart, typically doesn't it take the RTO at least around 1 month or so to provide the Smart Card/ RC Book?
Parivahan throws up authentic info for over 80% cases.
Some specifics that I've observed :
1.The Corolla I sold in 2014 in TN is still shown in my name , but I have the RC image which has the new owner details updated
2.Current car is shown in my name.
3.My 2 older cars in the same registration series of another state e.g..GJ-xx-CD, one is shown while in the other it says registration does not exist.

Haha! The car is very much in existence so I am not worried!
RTO takes more than two months for dispatching the RC book/smart card as they most of the time run out of paper. Or atleast that's what I was told by my Ford dealer. But I thought the Parivahan database would be updated when the numbers are issued.
Thanks guys! Glad to know that I am not in the same boat. The holdup at Pune RTO must be recent. I purchased a two wheeler earlier in the year (Feb), and the details were being reflected on the same day I received the SMS from RTO.
Hi,
Recently I was approached by an agent for a reselling a motorcycle.
The problem is that the owner has lost all documents and papers for the motorcycle.
I used the VAHAN facility and got the name of the owner which is similar to the owners son's name. But I want to know if there are other ways to find the initial registered address of this vehicle !!
I don't want the RTI way since this will be added burden to running from pillar to post.
Can the agents at the RTO do this for a fee ? All I need is just the address of the vehicle owner.

Assuming you are in hyderabad, if you need just the address, you can download the Telangana RTA m-wallet app from playstore. Add a new RC in the wallet by giving the following details-
1) Vehicle Registration number.
2) Last 5-digits of the chassis number( this is a must).
A photocopy of the RC would be added to your m-wallet. This works with the pre-2014 AP registered numbers as well.
